View Full Version : Least played, yet most viable all class around for Red99

:)

Curious if there is a more surprising answer to this question than answers from the blue server~

For example, Rangers seem to be great at PvP when twinked in the teens or so, as oppose to a Necromancer which apparently can't even use their fear spells against other players. Yet, because of the Necromancer's inability to use fear... more are needed at higher levels?

Thanks!

this is almost an unanswerable question because you are basically got a circle jerk of a question so im just going to provide u with these answers below.

most viable most played class strictly pvp is a rogue if you are just starting off, first char.

most viable most played class strictly pve is chanter if you are just starting out

the most viable most evenly balanced pve/pvp character would be a shaman, or with this new patch( we will have to see how this goes), a necro.

edit: there is no least played most viable, you could say what is the most least viable character that no one plays(ranger). but not most viable least played because everyone plays the most viable classes.

Unequivocally Shadow Knight.

It depends on what you are trying to do ultimately.

For pve solo, you have chanter/Mage/shaman/necro, although Mage is by far the weakest pve and pvp choice in that list due to how op charm and slow are.

For solo pvp, wizard / rogue / shadowknight are easily the top 3.

As agatha stated though, if they put in dispell counters, necros would be the all round choice.

Wizard, Bard, Cleric, or Warrior. Monk if you're in for the long haul, once you're BIS it's worth it, but you are such shit the entire way there.

First timer set on melee, I'd say rogue. You'll get decked out from any guild because they'll want your DPS - then just ditch em and do what you want.

Rogue if you can convince a guild to farm you an epic. If you don't have an epic its probably the worst class to roll and nobody is going to group with you. If you don't have an epic the correct answer is wizard bard or druid.

Agreeing on enchanter, honorable mention to necro/mage because nobody playd them.

For pve + pvp.. Big disagree. The only people you'll kill as a Shaman are total noobs who don't carry cure pots. Easily my favorite class but it's gimp in pvp. Druid and bard are much better choices. Druids get ports (to farm spell plat and gank) better nukes, and won't have any trouble grouping thqnks to the low server pop. Bards are always in demand and among the top tier pvp and pve classes, can fast travel with selos, and you can 18-60 in a day or two using vendor instruments. Play a bard or druid and your next char will be pimped out.

Guy asks the least played class that is viable and dudes seriously respond with rogues, monks, wizards, warriors?

Come on, that's like 80% of the server pop.

The guy asked for the least played and best class for every situation. There is no answer for this.

just dont go paladin as first main; trust me =)

Personallllllllly in my 6 months experience on red99 I would suggest a solo pve class first then build up your pvp class after; chanter/necro/shaman for example then save pennies for your level 1 melee pvp toon.

If you wanted to go SK for example you can quest out a full set of good armor in CT while solo leveling in the 40's range for your level 1 melee.

Agree w/ Necro.

Rogue is a poor suggestion all around unless you're twinked and/or plan on hiding in indoor zones 24/7.

newb question, but what makes you think necros will cover back well next patch? Is there an upcoming changes thread I'm blind to find or just a gut feeling?

Nukes are getting mega-nerfed, dispels are getting changed to classic (harder to dispel shit, more "random" dispels)

Necromancer is capable of wrecking and as soon as dispell changes come in splurt and pyrocur are goingto do work. I know I'm not best on server but I'm prolly up there. Quite possible to beat any class 1v1 with some skill. In mass PvP you get targeted quick and gotta know how to evade.

Laffo all these people thinking necros are going to be good on a server where melees literally do not miss, hit from across the room, and don't even have to be facing you while doing it.

I've noticed this. Monks were NOT that great on rallos until like PoP era. Suddenly here even at low levels they rape everyone wtf

Laffo all these people thinking necros are going to be good on a server where melees literally do not miss, hit from across the room, and don't even have to be facing you while doing it.

The main problem here is the inaccurate hit ratio. Melee hit hard and for way too often. Damage was alot more random, as AC mainly affected overall damage reduction, not hit/miss frequency.

Sear

Yes, they were good on RZ long before PoP era

And melees hit casters hard on live, because casters have no AC and that is how it's supposed to be.

Necro can kill some melee classes without even getting in melee range (outdoors), if they have any clue how to pvp on a red server. Most people here don't. I used to dread fighting 60 Necro or Shaman, as a Monk w/ tstaff who knew what the fuck he was doing, because those classes are flat-out more versatile in pvp and I'd have like a 5% shot of winning if I attempted it outdoors. 0% if Shaman had those clicky SoW boots.

ive seen very low dmg numbers on high lvl melees, wich doesnt make sense and hit rates being weird tbh. its true something is a bit broken with hit chances and melee dmg output, something is not working as it was on live not sure, maybe is just a paranoic perception thing
