Any of you guys play the game that invented EQ?

I played 2cnd and 3rd, skipped fourth. I would play 5th if someone wanted to loan me rule books and run the campaign. Who was actually minor decent at it.

I've played D&D since the purple (ie. older) version of the red box, and let me be the first to say ... screw Wizards of the Coast. What they did to the game in 4th was a travesty, as was their abandonment of the SRD.

For anyone who knows anything about games Pathfinder is Dungeons and Dragons now. Wizards will need to do a complete 180 if they ever want real fans of the game to come back.

Ioramin, have you checked out 5th edition? Totally different from 4th. No longer table top bullshit. From what I've been told its back to what DnD is supposed to be.

I am new to DnD I saw a dude at work with a box like 2 years ago and have been playing ever since but i started on 4th edition and am liking 5th much more.

Torrent them as pdfs or e-books and bring a laptop or e-reader with you. It's nice having hard copies sometimes, but having the rule book and every supplemental book in the palm of your hand is way more convenient imo.

Someone start up a P99 DnD group imo!

I've seen a bit of 5th, and it does seem better than 4th. However, if you have a choice between:

A) a game publisher who puts a free copy of all of their rules online
B) a game publisher who doesn't

who would you want to give your money to?

Back when Wizards had an SRD I bought (almost) every book released for 3/3.5. But then 4th was terrible and had no SRD, so I went to a game that does have one (Pathfinder). Now I have no reason to go back.

Maybe someday I'll pirate the 5th ed books and try it out, if my group gets tired of everything else. But Wizards isn't getting another cent of money.

When I was younger (like 10) my babysitter would GM D&D for us.

He would take turns with my brothers and I and only do it if we cleaned. Like, running around the house and getting us to roll, telling us the updates from the other turns. Win win win IMO
