So I am following the install guide here:
http://wiki.project1999.com/Everquest_Titanium_Installation_Guide
1) I acquired my version of Everquest Titanium from a popular location and the file was even called: EverQuest Red99.zip (for the 1999 project).
2) I installed Daemon Tools Lite
3) I'm at the step where I load the ISO and mount the drive but when I unzipped the folder to a root directory called c:\Red99 I have no iso's, in fact it looks like a complete install already
so now I don't know what to do, is this the install or do I need to find the iso's and go through an install like from a CD?
any help would be appreciated. I was hoping on logging in tonight and starting my level 1 bard or shaman

Don't use that one.

Go for the version with the most seeds.
I offer the very specific step by step directions given to me when I started if requested by personal message by clicking here: http://www.project1999.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=28141

thank you for the replies. Before my post was approved I went back last night and dl'd the one with the most seeds. it was 3.6gb and came with 5 CD folders and 5 ISO's. However, daemon tools would load the cd but the installer would not work. I tried about 10x and the installer would crash every time just after the SOE image would appear. I believe it is incompatibility with Windows 7?
maybe it's just not in the cards. I will try to PM you Lyra and see if your directions will help. I was excited to relive that feeling I had when I joined EQ in 2000.

actually, it says I am not allowed to view or send private messages for some reason. So it doesn't look like I can do that either. I think the only thing I'm missing is the install piece. I have the forum account (obviously) and the game account. I know had to patch the existing files and which files to remove.
I'll see if I can try again or maybe use another virtual cdrom, maybe that will help. Or maybe I should try to download a different set of titanium iso's? I really think the problem is that it won't run on windows 7.

^Make sure that:
A) Daemon tools was installed with administrator privileges
B) Do not use autorun. Open your virtual drive, find the setup or install file, right click -> run as administrator.
c) Do not install to C:\program files\ OR c:\program files(x86). Use something like C:\everquest or C:\games\everquest

So not sure how to fix the original issue but I can probably just deal with the alternative.
Just wanted to make another post in case anyone else has the same issue I can update you with my progress.
1) Deamon tools was installed correctly and worked with another ISO
2) I installed WinCDEmu as well and it also did not work for EQ
3) I tried running setup and install file as administrator - received same windows installer error
4) the error I received was different than others I saw before (can't remember off the top of my head and I'm not at home). I googled the error message and most of the hits I got were pages asking me to download registry cleaners so obviously I did not do that
5) I then redownloaded the ISO's all over and tried again, no luck
6) @Derubael - I never got to C, windows installer crashed just as it loaded the SOE image of the iso
So, I still had my pc configured to dual-boot XP, I just hadn't booted into XP in 2 years so I didn't know what to expect.
I booted up into XP, and sure enough, everything installed flawlessly. Added the patch files, removed the other noted files, logged in and started my character.
As a side note, I just tried it on Windows 8 and wouldn't you know it, it also begins the install just fine. I haven't tried completing the install just curious if it would load the ISO's through Daemon Tools which it did.
See you guys in game!
