Hello,

I am currently trying everything to set up the EQ client to run P1999 and nothing is working and I am following your guide to the tee. So far, i think the problem is the spell files that we download from the set up page. EVERY single time i've extracted that folder into my EQ folder it causes the game to be unlaunchable and I get an error message. Right now I can play on any other server besides P1999.....

Can someone confirm that there is something in the spell files stopping me from playing?

what's the error message you are getting? Is your antivirus eatting the dsetup.dll file?

Uh well right now I have a fresh install and I haven't broken it yet to show the message... but it's something along the lines of "cannot open application....0c0000022x.." doesn't mention anything about dsetup.dll in the message though. If you need me to break it and show the message I can.

You downloaded directx 9.0c?

I don't think so, is that the issue? I also tried using Duxa's all in one installer, but I still get the missing spell files message when loading into server

Here's the exact message.

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application."

That happens every single time I move the spell files from p1999 web into the folder. Also I read somewhere to click "Launch Titanium" that is included in the files, but I get the same error message when doing that as well.

Your antivirus program is likely falsely quarantining the game.

Either disable your antivirus program

or

Exempt eqgame.exe or the entire P99 folder from virus scans.

Since I'm not getting any help in my post, I'll jump in here...

I am getting the exact same 2 error messages and it is not my antivirus software blocking anything. What other options are there?
