which ones do you use and why?
i'm just a little curious, as i've been using the level 5 root, even though i have a newer one.
is there any other reason aside from longer possible root duration to use higher level roots?

Longer duration is it.

Druid ones increase in damage and efficiency.

thank you for the quick reply, sadly a lot of the time, the root seems to break prematurely anyway, i don't suppose having a longer maximum duration is going to help much with that.

Longer duration is it.

Eh, the faster cast times of some spells are pretty significant imo.

Druid roots have the added bonus of hurting summoners! ;)

what contributes to roots breaking early? I'm curious.
is there something like CHA for Enc charm breaks that directly relates?

Magic resist check.

And most mobs that summon can be rooted once without it summoning. The 2nd time is usually where they summon. And anything that needs to be rooted for more than 3 min probably should be killed or mezzed.

The most important factor is level difference between you and the mob. If the mob is close to your level it will break root early a lot more often than if it is much lower level than you. The difference between a high blue con and a low blue con is huge in terms of root resists as well as all other spell resists.
