View Full Version : How do enchanters hold high lvl camps?

As a long time necro trying to adjust to the enc play style I struggle with long solo camps. Example: ghoul lord in lguk. With a necro I can have my permanent pet out and wait for spawn. On enc I would have to keep a frog on charm lockdown for 20 minutes in case he pops. Is that how it's done? Summoned enchanter pet won't cut it.

You could memblur it and let it path around for 20 minutes and grab it when your mob respawns.

Highest chanter pet might work in old world dungeons, but why would you want to. Pull a pet from the next room, kill the room down. Break charm, blur it if you need to afk. Or let your pet get near death and finish it with a nuke after breaking and pet a new mob when stuff repops.

Something that a lot of people don't seem to understand is that the level 4 Mesmerize spell has nearly a 100% chance to memblur your target.

If you are going to pet a mob for lord, ideally do one in his room. Mez the other add and kill lord. Kill the other add, then break your pet, level 4 mez him, and backup a bit. If you were too close to him, he will reaggro even when mezzed and give the "froaaak!!" Message. If you're fast enough or near a corner you can usually mez then get out of LoS quick and this will allow him to memblur.

To see if he memblurred you can invis and con him. If indifferent, it memblurred. Alternatively he should be regening about 5% a tick after blurred.

Once blurred he will just reset to his position.

Or you could long duration mez, invis and camp.

I often use my lull in order to blur effectively in tight spaces. Keeps you from having to go backwards into possible repopped rooms.

Soothe is nice for that yea. Alternatively if I don't want to drop a spell for that I'll just get to a corner, mez and then immediately move behind the corner to get out of LoS. Most of the time that works.

Hasted, torched summoned pet beats most normal spawns in lower dungeons, especially if you use tepid deeds. When a named spawns, I will just nuke, chain stun, or higher level slow.

Not the fastest way, but definitely the laziest.

Something that a lot of people don't seem to understand is that the level 4 Mesmerize spell has nearly a 100% chance to memblur your target. Thought it was like 30%? I've tried mezing a pet to regen when it's low on health (and i always use the level 4 for pet recharms) and it doesn't regen the 5% after mez, even after numerous casts.

You didn't soothe it or move away far enough then. It is damn near 100% on this server. Unsure if classic, though, percentages like that are tough to prove.

It does take a few casts but yeah, you gotta move back or cast lull/soothe/calm. I'd put it closer to 50% but still, hell of a lot more reliable than mem blur and for the most part you'll have it memmed anyways.

Memblur on level 4 Mez appears to have the chance of it blurring go up with levels. If I mez a mob in the 20's, it mem blurs 100%.

It's actually 1%. (http://wiki.project1999.com/Mesmerize)

The wiki may say 1% but it's much much higher than that.

calm ==> target yourself and cast Blanket of Forgetfulness - I have yet to see it fail.

make sure, you are close enough to the mob.

Just step back, mezz pet, calm, mezz until regeneration. Continue until desired effect is achieved. Sometimes it takes multiple casts, other times you'll get it on the first try.
