I've pretty much never said anything good about Nihilum, but this outcome is fucking pathetic and makes everyone else look like total shit. Yes the guy is a pos, but how much lower is it to celebrate the handful of players who are even bigger pos' that they would ride his nuts for months to get more stats on their gear, then sneak around to sell him out like they aren't just as dirty.
We have to have a play nice policy because we as a community apparently are too stupid to govern ourselves in any reasonable way. Now we, as a community, have just whined and sobbed for GMs to come in with the banhammer and "fix" the problem that we created because such a huge percentage of this server lacks the will or intelligence to play this *nostalgia* server on their own terms. Nihilum only grew into the tumor that it was because 90% of the 16+ hour a day losers on this server can't stand to be too far away from each other lest they miss the constant reminders of how cool they are together in EQ.
Jesus, this is a 15 year old *game*. We shouldn't celebrate the way Nihilum was handled; by whining, lying, manipulating, and cajoling staff by probably the shittiest members of this community. EQ wasn't a wonderfully perfect game, it stands out because it had the feel of an untamed world. This server has just turned into a bunch of people standing in their own shit and screaming for someone else to come clean it up.
