I hear you need at least two charismas but not more than seven in multiples of three

CHA > Int/mana > hp

I put all points into CHA on my enchanter, only because I figured INT items are more common and less expensive than an item with +CHA. People seem to jack up prices on stuff like Siryn Hair Hood. Once you get 200+ CHA charms seem to last a lot longer and break less.

CHA > Int/mana > hp

This.

Huge difference between under 200 cha and over 200 cha.

If you're not playing a high elf, put 25 into CHA on creation.

200 or so of each int/cha will get you started. Don't gimp your mana pool and please don't give in and pick some shitty high elf you know??

Cap 255 CHA ASAP then focus on hp/mana. The less CHA gear you have to wear the better to open up to slots to better stats

Mez costs like 50 mana and you get a mana tap, max cha who cares about int.

From personal experience, and playing with no REAL testing. I can say that once you hit 200+ charm it def helps, After that your level and the level of the npc you are charming generally will determine how 'often' it breaks. From what I understand from a few brief reads about it. Charm duration works on a tick basis apparently? Which I would assume means it checks your charisma, the targets gets a MR check for poss resist/break mebe every tick or few ticks don't know for sure. Once you get 40-50+ and get the higher level charisma buffs, they add a fair amount of CHA which will allow you to wear other items for int or hp whatever you want. My enchanter is ghetto for the most part, But he can cap out at max charisma and lose like 300-500mana or he can sit around 230-245 and only lose like 150 mana tops with the gear changes. Rod of insidious Glamour and that Crude Stein is is the biggest cha boosts next to JC bracers/rings I think. I am pretty rusty with enchanters its been a while since I played one.

You can charm something just fine sometimes with 200+ charisma and itll last 5+ minutes NP. Other times you just get bad luck and itll break back to back or every 2-3 minutes. I always stuck to lvl 4 mez for quick/cheap mez while having enough time to re-tash and get a charm off with ~5 seconds to spare before mez broke. I imagine if you were to get the epic it would boost your stats a lot for one item allowing for more gear changes.

As far as worrying about mana, Clarity is pretty damn good. And once you get theft of thought(51) and Clarity II, 50 mana mezzes wont even make a dent in your mana bar you will regain so fast and if you have caster mobs whether low level or same level near by you can just as easily theft of thought them and get a significant amount of mana back to keep yourself going. Once you get ToT + C2 you should never run into mana problems unless you are a sole enchanter mezzing/buffing for an entire raid in like plane of fear, hate, whatever. Epic click haste comes in handy for the mana free haste, Though most people prefer VoG due to its duration you can still save a ton of mana at end game by hasting the non rogue/melee dps with shissar.

I am not on much anymore, But if you need some charisma jewelry made and no one in game is willing to help. Drop me a PM and I can help you out, I don't remember the costs on most of it, but iirc its all pretty cheap especially the bracers. Like I said I haven't been on EQ much at all lately, but when I was playing actively there was a lack of JC's unless you had a friend or guildmate to do it, even then it was hard to get done at times. As a new ench leveling up I might prefer going with 55hp rings over charisma for the time being until you get higher. Anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong about any of this.

I honestly don't remember going past 200 on Live, I think this server might be different on resist checks.

Thanks, Not sure why you would have wanted to read it in the first place. afaik you used to play a monk a year ago or so? So why would you have anything useful to contribute towards a new enchanter asking questions.

CHA is super easy to get via gear cheap gear. Dump points in INT. Play Dark Elf for innate Hide to break charm. Charm Solo names for $ and Win.

Also, hope that you have a pet up and that they dont have pots when pvp happens.

Nothing is cooler than someone running up to smack you and not knowing you have a hasted charmed pet sitting in the next room.
