Question

Started a High Elf cleric and I am always encumbered now because their STR is low.....I have some plate items and I followed WIKI guide on where to put extra start up points . Will this balance out in later levels because I know clerics wear plate gear or do I need to re-roll now. Thanks for the help

My cleric is a dwarf for this very reason. I wouldn't say high elf cleric is not doable but it is certainly more annoying. You have to be more careful about what you loot (i.e. don't loot weapons and armor, destroy copper/silver, etc.) and what you carry (medicine bags only weigh 0.4, for example, so they're better than backpacks).

My ultimate goal is end game fun....will this effect me with cleric armor being plate? That is my main concern

No, when thinking about end game, the class you are and/or starting stats wont matter really. I used to have STR issues on my dark elf and now I don't even think twice about it.
