View Full Version : Spells: Fungal Regrowth (fungi staff) doesn't stack with regen line

Normally these spells wouldn't stack because they share the same effect type in the same effect slot, but Fungal Regrowth also has a snare component in the same effect slot as movement speed buffs such as SoW and jboots.

If and only if the movement buff is before the regen spell in the buff order, then casting Fungal Regrowth should overwrite the movement buff instead of the regen. Currently on p99, Fungal Regrowth simply won't take hold if a movement buff is already active.

To get the staff to stack with your regen you need to cast sow then regen then use the staffs effect. The effect will then only cancel the sow and will leave both regens up. the Key is to make sure sow is before your regen on the effects list.

It does stack with other regens. My buddy has one and he let me use it and it stacked with my cloro. I did cancle my sow though.Oct 01 2001 at 3:52 AM http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=537#m100192632693565
* it DONT stack with Regrowth (or other pure regen spell) EXCEPT in the case where you have Regrowth JUST AFTER SoW in your buff windowsAt some point in Luclin the spell stacking mechanics must have changed, making this no longer possible:

Just to clarify the below posts. The click effect (which only works when equipped) on the staff NO LONGER stacks with Regrowth. It doesn't matter where SoW or Regrowth are in the buff order, the effect overwrites both buffs. This would be an indication that spell stacking is currently being handled in an "unclassic" manner on p99 and that other spells that can possibly stack don't on this server.

Seems legit. Our stacking rules aren't the same as classic for Runspeed buffs.

For example you can have Torpor and SoW. And Selos and SoW. They shouldn't allow the buffs to be on at the same time. Only the best buff would stick, or in the case of snares, the snare would remove any Runspeed buff.

Selo I think was funky until the root/snare patch in Velious and then they certainly wouldn't have selos and sow stacking. You had to ask players to remove selos to get SoW when going indoors and whatnot.

I can provide evidence if devs are interested in Runspeed changes.

This was actually reported last year as well. Unfortunately, it never got much traction.

There was once a bug like this that prevented Splurt and the Cessation of Cor line landing unless you cast Splurt first.

Verant's spell stacking early in the game was super glitchy and terrible. Also Selos used to override root which made Bards so so so good in PvP.

I am not an authority on classic vs. not classic. But this seems legit and I want it to be true..
