View Full Version : Spells: Particle effects not showing up in first-person view

I tried doing a search to see if something akin to/about this was posted, but didn't find anything. So, here I go.

I am not seeing any particle effects from my own spells when I cast in first-person view, nor am I seeing any particle animations from my own buffs or from any nukes when they land on me immediately after casting is complete. However, I can see all of my spell particles (both casting and landing) just fine in third-person views.

I can also see the spell particle effects from others' spells while in first-person view (such as if they are buffing themselves or nuking an NPC). However, if they buff me, I cannot see the "landing" particles surround my character if I am in first-person view.

This leads me to believe there's something wrong with seeing spell particles in first-person view as they relate to/affect my character (whether it be a self-casted buff, a buff received by another player, or a nuke from an NPC). I remember on live being able to see the particles emit from my "hands" in first-person view while casting and also being able to see the "landing" particles surround my character from a first-person perspective.

I tried tweaking around with the particle options and with /showspelleffects, but nothing seems to correct the issue. I'm hoping someone could look into this or offer insight on the issue. Thanks for your time.

Spell particles on your character will not show up in first person because that was removed from the client during luclin. So it's not a bug, it's just a limitation of the titanium client. People including myself have looked into it, but no luck so far.

Thanks for the insight, Vega (and Telin, since it's technically his post :p). I had a gut-feeling I might have overlooked something. I had no idea it was purposely removed, but hopefully the devs can figure it out in the future.

I guess that means this topic is done for. Thanks again!
