Hi folks.

Long time (bought just before Kunark came out, was in Middle school) EQ Player here... and like many here I'm assuming, miss the good ol' days of Velious / Kunark. I searched for this type of server for quite sometime, but apparently wasn't looking too well. Though this was years ago...

Either way, I have tons of questions...

How long has this server been up for?

How "classic" is this server? There isn't no PoK easy transportation is there? I surely hope not. I would like to HAVE to take a half-hour boat ride to where I want to go (if a druid/wizard isn't around that is).


Is grouping an issue? Or are there people in the previously played zones for certain level ranges?

Has EC tunnels returned?! I hope so...


I'd like to re-roll as a Cleric like I once did. I'm still playing on EQ Retail/Paid servers as a Cleric / Shammy / SK box group, but I'd like to just focus on 1 character, which I'm thrilled to see no boxing allowed. Better for the community.


Anyways... after it crashing a dozen times, fixing stuff, and using WinEQ... I'm finally in!


Hopefully this is a great experience, and see me around as often as I can be on each day.

Well I guess this server is going on to close to 4 years now. It is about as "Classic" as you are going to get.

Yes the Tunnel is alive and well. The only trading center on here. And yes there is the usual zones that are good to group in and the usual ones that were on live you are going to have to solo.

Best advice is to play a class you like and not get in a big rush to get to 60. Get in a guild and have people to talk to in guild talk so they can answer some of your questions. Velious should be out soon, but not probably next week thingy, but they are working on it to get it right, not half right. This is far and away one of the nicer servers going for EQ I think. Do not even think about 2 boxing or RMT or you are done for good. But you can play both the Blue server and the Red server at the same time and be fine. You can get a IP exemption and have a friend, wife, etc. play with you but DO NOT play both at the same time alone.

This server is pretty much hard mode. Which I think is great. As I am sure you are aware of some classes you hardly need any gear and some are really gear dependent. Pick you poison.

Server is quite active at all levels even during Australian peak times.

One of the great things about the Kunark ceiling is that there isn't much for the old timers to do than roll alts so there is lots of activity right across the spectrum. You'll have the usual EQ experience of easy groups as a cleric almost all the way through I guess.

Easy groups even on here? Hmm...

Was thinking Necro in case groups weren't as active like back in the day... if that's not the case, suppose I'll just go Cleric then. I just remember it being tough back then when I first started... then again I was like, 13 or 14 years old? Still was a good cleric even then though once I got into the Sarnak Forts and got my feet wet.

Guess I'll see how Cleric goes then.

Somewhat normal hours I suppose... 8:30pm EST til real late in the morning most nights, and even some mornings.

Been doing a /w all (lvl range) and see quite a few people around all ranges. Cleric it is then.
