Ever sell something for way more than it was worth to someone who didn't care?

Or buy something from a seller who didn't realize what it was really worth?

Did you ever get a prime spot under T1 and stayed for hours?

Did you ever get to Lord Shin Ree before everyone else when an SOS went out?

Lets hear some great TunnelQuest stories...

Can't really say I have any really good tunnel lurking stories, because I get impatient so don't hang out there too much. I do remember on one occasion seeing two people intermittently auctioning, one person wanting to buy an item, another person wanting to sell the same item for less than was being auctioned to buy it. It went on for a little while because they obviously weren't scanning auc chat, just waiting for a direct tell. So I eventually bought the item from one person and sold it directly to the other and got the profit. I think for a portion of time they were both standing next to me trying to do the trade.

The tunnel was cool for the first 2 years I played on p99... now people are just plain annoying to me. Haggling is dumb. Bring on the bazaar.

This one day, i sat at tunnel entrance waiting for hot dark elves from Neriak to run up naked asking for buffs.

And one did. and I gave her my DS package.

Shit was pretty cash.

I would watch out for this. I know people have scammed others before this very way.

example: Go in ec and acution something maybe not many people know about. Could even be a random item you foraged in kunark know one knows about and auction it for 10k or w/e for 30 mins. Then leave to Freeport and have someone else come in and say they WTB that same item for 15k. Guarantee it will not take long for someone to give the guy a tell in Freeport saying they will buy their crap crystal or w/e they just forged for free for 10k only to resell it to the person for 15k. But when they do buy it for 10k the trader who WTB for 15k logs off and boom they just made an easy 10k.

One of my favorite EC memories was someone shouted they have a reward for the first dark elf red pvp tagged lvl 1 to run from neriak to shady and hail them. You had to make a character with a certain word in the name so they new it was just made and no one could cheat. I immediately camped out made a dark elf and turned in my tomb to be red tagged. Lots of new dark elfs began poping up all with the same word in their name and began turning in their pvp tombs. Long story short I got killed appeared outside and starting strafe running like crazy. Was the first to make it to shady and got handed 25kpp as my reward. I was so F'ing happy. Great day

Haggling is not Dumb

Saying you want 700 plat for something and then ignoring the guy who offers up 500 plat, that's dumb. At least have the courtesy to decline.

My best tunnelquest moment was finally making it there from FP bank with 65k plat and BARELY cutting the corner and falling 3 inches for 32k dmg.

charming air eles or ghouls, bringing them to the tunnel, breaking charm and blurring the mob. Gets 1 or 2 level 1 mules almost everytime :)

i remember when i was around level 25/30, a guy was selling withered leather sleeves, for 300pp. I bought them completely oblivious to the fact Monks couldnt wear them. i was quite annoyed i had spent all of my PP on something i couldnt wear.

I looked them up on the wiki, and to my delight they were valued at 15000pp at the time.

I eventually sold them for 12k, i was a very happy man! These sleeves set me up very nicely indeed!

A bard gave me 500PP + Bracer of Scavenging for one of my self-quested lambent bracers - to complete his "Lambent" look. Considering the Lambent bracer is pretty crappy, I felt like I robbed the guy.

When the item is known to be worth 1-1.5k and I am selling it for 700p and you're offering 500p... you get ignored. These are the people that can eat shit.

Burrito Night.

Barely anybody believed me, but there actually really were burritos.

The few that did venture to the back of the tunnel to get their burritos were shrugged at, laughed at, and then I said something like "ha he really thought there were burritos"

The person would usually /frown or /cry or something...

....at which point I handed them the burrito.

Double-reverse mindblow!

Took awhile for GM's to catch on but I use to charm a snake, sow it, break charm then drag it close enough to Sarg. Slate to agro but not close enough that he'd hit it. Now that it has sow he can never catch up to it unless you stop.

Proceed to round up the rest of guards in EC, the merchants assisted the guards, etc. I'd go into a crowded evil area and let the snake die, proceed to watch the giant massacre of people getting pwnt, all while it just showed A Snake dying to slate, not it chasing Andain.

Oh the good times.

I agree. Anyone who doesn't have plat to throw around is dumb to not offer slightly less then the asking price. That is just how it works in a market like this. Some people have 1000pp to spend on a whole toon and the diff of a couple hundred plat means being able to upgrade that cloth, bronze or have enough to buy a new spell. So if someone offers you 100pp less then what your asking don't be an asshole. It probably actually means a lot to them when you think they are just being cheap.

Kinda sucks you know who the fat cats are. EC tunnel to me is mostly just a bunch of noob tier stuff that I don't want and occasionally over priced junk I can't afford. How anyone can stand to wait there long enough to make money from that is beyond me.

Sometimes the outliers in this community make me wonder why I'm still here, playing this game, having something in common with insane losers like chuck, who every now and then spaz out and regurgitate their mental abortions all over the forums. Must be real exciting browsing niche? porn sites, saving images to your computer (because that's why you really did it), and posting them all over the forums of an elf simulator on a Saturday morning. Just kill yourself dude.

But the ignore list works and EQ addiction calls again...killing pixels for other pixels never gets old.
