so i play on a laptop, as my desktop machine is hella broken right now (dont ask). EQ runs fine on this machine for what i want to do, but i have this one problem that is really starting to bug me.

if i start eqgame.exe with an external mouse plugged in, then while playing i unplug it (to go poop or something), i can use the touchpad two-fingers down gesture to control my 3rd-person zoom as i would with the mousewheel.

but if i start eqgame.exe without the mouse plugged in, the client does not seem to register the gesture. even if i plug the mouse in later, unless i restart the client i have to stay in 1st-person. i was wondering if anyone knows why this would be different, or if there was a way that i could make the client respond to the touchpad gestures without having the mouse plugged in.

my laptop is an asus and i use the asus gesture utility that comes with the ATKdriver package.

Hi.

I have a new laptop (HP Dragonfly G4) and it seems i have now the same problem with the touchpad.

i can not scroll out in 1st person mode to see my char in front of me.

This works without problems with my "old" HP laptop ...

i didnt check it with a mouse connected yet because of these damn usb-c only connectors.

perhaps anyone have a idea what the problem is ? 10 years later :)

There is software that will allow you to assign functions like mouse wheel to buttons if you don't find another solution..

okay . .today my usb-c adapter came and i could connect a real mouse to the laptop.

After the mouse is connected you can zoom in and out in the game as normal.
also this works now with software emulation (e.g. AutoHotKey).

Other software mouse emulation tools (e.g NeatMouse) did not work either without a real mouse connected.

So , same Problem still 10 Years later .. i guess it will stay be a mistery :)

But the good thing is ... a Laptop Mouse isnt expensive :)
