Hey all,

My name is Dennis, I go by Ahmet in-game (currently level 45 enchanter). I live in NJ, 24 years old, mortgage officer, weekend-warrior basketball player and fisherman. I first played EQ when I was around 11 years old, it was pretty "classic" at that point, around the time this server is emulated in. I think I played up until Luclin, or so, but I was just young, stupid, and terrible at the game which meant I never had a toon above 20 before screwing it up somehow. Still, nothing since then has ever given me the feeling this game did back then. I've played every MMO under the sun, raided in a few, and got into the competitive Counter-Strike 1.6/Source scene for a bit too. I found this server a couple months ago (late, I know!) and I have been HOOKED. I find myself logging on and hitting my friends list immediately to try and link up with the awesome people I've met and played with. Often, not even to group, just to say whatup.

I wanted to come on here this morning to thank the awesome people that play on this server and the developers for letting me come home everyday from work and hop on to a super fun and stress-free experience. This is my absolute favorite game in existence, and it's exactly how I always wanted to play it, now that I'm (a little) more competent! I find helpful and fun people everyday, and the amount of bad apples I've encountered doesn't even hold a light to the good ones. So many people are willing to port, CR, buff, provide advice or info.. it's a great community and it's made becoming a good tipper nothing but a pleasure.

If you see me in your zone, I'm always happy to drop some *FREE* clarity, even if I'm mezzing trains for my group. I won't let them die, don't worry! Just hit me up and I got you. I'm on every night after 7pm EST for the most part and I'm game for whatever. I would love to start duoing more, but solB and CoM has been sweet thus far in the 40's too.

I am too a returning EQ player, was just a little older than you when I played and same thing, sucked really bad never got past lvl 40 some. Now after playing all the mmo's in the world, raiding, pvp you name it, somehow i find myself playing old school EQ and loving every minute. Im a 49 Bard Ahmet, even tho most groups dont need a bard and ench i'll be around if you ever wanna group!

And yes the community here is amazing, lots of help.

Yes! This exactly. I was at a point of downloading anything I could find I hadn't heard about after burning through all the subscription options. Finding this was a "duh" moment for me. Dude, We need to group up and duo. I've had a ton of success fear kiting with bards in FV doing pirates/drolvargs. We would have a field day in OT or LOIO Bloodgills. Hit me up!

Haha yea we were rocking. I get what he means about the bard thing though, a lot of people shy away from it. I love the mana song personally when I'm the only chanter. It makes keeping a pet, keeping haste up, and mezzing chain pulls infinitely easier.

I just did 2 days of fear kiting in CoM, just pulled a group of 4-5 dps while i fear kited it was great.

Of course, look for me tonight and maybe we can get some xp!

That's funny because I tried to get an enchanter from CoM to come replace me in SolB and he said "I can't leave, there is a bard here fear kiting and the exp is insane"..

Hey Ahmet, I think I met you yesterday on my druid Sooby. I agree with you 100%! I've tried a bunch of mmo's and other games and had a really good time with a lot of them, but this amazing game that came out in 1999 keeps pulling me back like no other game ever has. There's just something about it that makes it stand out. Anyhoot, just wanted to give you a shout out. If you ever need a port or something just shoot me a tell and I'll come grab ya if I can :)

I absolutely love how it depends on what you have for a group makeup dictates how you play, Totally changes the game from charm soloing, to fear kiting to tank and heal groups. The whole xp penalty thing is kind of a bummer cause some classes like the ranger dont get invites but i show them love!

All this game makes me think of is where did we go wrong on MMO's that they have become so easy and loot driven. Where did the whole logging in and feeling like you were in another world with so much danger around go.

I'm so psyched to see so many enthusiastic new and returning players. This is really great! I have a monk whose lvl 9 in EC by the nae of Kofufu if you guys ever wanna duo or group :) Usually I can group on the weekends, weekdays are kinda hit or miss due to family and school. Also, if you guys ever have a newb character you want to move from point A to point B, just shoot my druid Sooby a tell if I'm online. 9/10 unless I'm grouping I can come swing by for a port.

So I moved to red with my buddy where group xp is VERY good. But tons of trolls to deal with. I'm torn. I get like 1 day a week to play.

Come to blue man.. WHATS the rush? Games not going anywhere and you're not racing against some sorta of expansion or level increase..
It's 60 and staying 60.. Make a handful of buddies, join a guild, and have fun.

Classic. Until they ruined it with expansion rushes.

I have 1 day a week really (Saturday) where I can crush it all day. But on blue that would be semi productive.

Don't get me wrong - I'm in love with the number of people, and the personality on the server. Everyone is incredibly nice and fun. I just won't get anything accomplished.

Juggling 2 jobs and a girlfriend who doesn't game. My 1 day off typically consists of time with her.

Ya I can see that.. But ultimately , playin on red with said trolls, and lack of community may lead to have less fun, than just dealing with your slow progression on blue.
Hard to say, I'll toss you some buffs or a DS, to yield ya some fast exp... :)

Maybe go with a class that can both solo and group? Solo when you have an hour to play, then form/join a group on Saturdays? Yeah, you won't be 60 anytime soon, but the journey there should be fun.
