so months after velious was released i dont know the exact date, the EQ Devs Updated PoFear 3 mini golems drop loot iirc 3 day timer +/- 12 and dracho loot table was improved
AS WELL AS more importantly
Cazic Thule, there were a few mini raids that could be done,
Guide the Gnome for the Earrings as well as
the bone dragon atop the pyramid where u had to turn in a 3-4 items and he would drop THE BEST tradeable velious loot in game
as well as the slime cycle and last but not least
the Mini cycle (waves of mobs would come @ you you had to suprass and multiple golems up 2 4 would spawn, including 3 mini ct golems from fear and then CT himself a mini version)

my question is, is this planned to be implemented?
i recall for a FACT and can link you to my previous guild page that PoFear/CT WAS UPDATED BEFORE Luclin @ least on the progression server Flippy Darkpaw for Live i was a bit to young to remeber but i do remeber farming those boots all day from that red swirling ooze.

P.S. just wanted answer didnt bother w/ Spell check and grammar

I'm not a dev, but if it's in the classic time line, expect it to be added at some point

Cazic Thule the zone is revamped in luclin, which won't be for a long time, if ever.

CT the boss gets buffed and new item drops along with Inny. Golems in fear start dropping old Cazic loot. Draco gets some new items and plane of Hate gets some upgrades.

go to page 312 scroll around a bit, as you can see those are Velious mobs, CT Slime ring, thats CT 2.0 on Flippy Darkpaw...so it was during Velious on Flippy theres hard evidence... and that server was run by EQ Devs so? i assume they r right on timeline

They also let mounts at one point and defiant armor on fippy/vulak. Wouldnt use those servers as examples of classic even if they were run by SoE.

It's a shame the CT revamp won't happen here, as I felt like they did an excellent job with it. It was the perfect zone to challenge even the most elite group of well-geared max-level characters, but the reward was worth it in terms of loot and good AA experience.

For any Nameless folk, I remember being a part of a mostly-LoS group one time which featured Mudcrush, and even with such an elite group we ended up wiping at the base of the pyramid after not very long. Unless you were down below where the goo that dropped the FT boots was or some other "easier" camp near the entrance, it was pretty easy to wipe there if any little thing went wrong.

That zone was one of the last things in Everquest that had any kind of mystique to me, as due to its challenge, many of the camps were typically open and not many people knew where all the best drops were, the best ways to split and hold some of the camps, etc. It took a while for that zone to get mastered.

You are relying on Fippy Darkpaw for classic EQ?

Taralia

it what is most recent and in my head... and Everquest devs ran that server, so i assume they know what they are doing to some extent...

As i said. Fippy and Vulak didnt follow classic timelines with alot of things. And as Ele linked there is proof in Patch notes that CT revamp was post Luclin. Sadly there is a semi useful gameplay feature that i noticed in that patch that i know dald will see :P

revamps will happen (not CT zone until Luclin), but its a matter of -when-

With how long Kunark lasted on p99, it might take years before we see revamps. Some things wont even have a loot table, like Tunare for example. Hopefully those get added quickly
The good thing about revamps is that its mostly just adding stuff to loot tables, which is not much work at all for the Devs.

Oh my goodness, not classic!

Gameplay Related:

NPC and PC corpses can now be /considered to find out how long until they decay, and PC corpses additionally tell you how long you have to resurrect them.

When I fully wake up I'll make a real bug post.

I hated the Ct revamp.

CT was my absolute favorite zone ever for leveling. Sure when they did the revamp the zone was dead no one was going there for exp but its not like the revamp changed anything. the ring events didnt work right and if you did get through it the rewards weren't worth the effort and number of people required, there was no exp bonus or reason to exp for aa there. it went from being dead with the possibility of having lower levels group there to being dead and only 1 or 2 farmers being in there for boots.

it wasn't as bad as the vp revamp though, we used to raid vp once a week on live for fun since it was amazing back then. then they revamped it, we did a pug type thing on ct and a lot of people got keyed/flagged to get in. within a week top end guilds killed all the mobs and had done most of the quests. then the zone died again but like with ct it completely destroyed any chance of doing the zone proper like it was meant to be and turned into a high level deadspot.

they had potential but all the revamps did on my server was officially kill old zones, they may as well have just removed them imo

Eh the CT revamp added quite a few awesome items.

Priest Instant Levitation Shield
FT3 Boots
Caster FT4 Gloves
Instant IVA Boots (self-only and not must-equip, easier charm break without wasting a slot.... also HUGE Aggro potential)
Scalecracker 41% Haste Race with 33AC/100HP... absolutely GODLY tank item

Not to mention the Chain / Plate armor tradeskills and the bags.

CT Revamp, made one of the more useless zones (post-Rubicite removal) very useful, and gave it more memorable camps than the original.

That being said... I would've preferred if CT Revamp was instead just an alternate zone in, and they kept everything classic in a bubble.

Daldaen for dev. And yes, I remember not being able to consider corpses and waiting to find out when a cleric rezzed you if you "made it" or not. It also used to be one shot only at a Rez if I recall. If you missed the first box you were SOL.

an alternate would be okay, on my server revamped ct was dead almost all the time. just had people farming the FT3 boots and that was it.

this was also post luclin so these items, though they are great, wont really match up to raid gear and some of these rings take 2 groups. well they used to :P

Revamped CT was one of my favorite zones as a shaman. It was a great challenge to go around and solo the zone and kill things that full groups were wiping to. One of my favorite EQ experiences.

Saying that CT revamp items don't match up to Luclin raid gear is a bit silly. It had some of the best droppable items in the game, as well as a bunch of super useful clickies you couldn't get anywhere else. The crafted Tae Ew chain armor became the defacto high end purchasable shaman set.

It reminds me a lot of the Splitpaw revamp that replaced the gnolls with elementals. This came out while The Sleeper and The Combine (2007 progression servers) were in PoP and it was probably the most difficult dungeon available at the time. It was a really intense solo challenge, if you screwed up once you died. It was so fun to get the experience of discovering a dungeon all over again. I was the only person (at least on my server) who had figured out how to solo the place and where the nameds were. It was really satisfying to be way in the back soloing a couple nameds to see a full group of Elemental geared guys zone in and immediately wipe at the entrance.

I got really rich off the CT and Splitpaw revamps, and had a lot of fun at the same time.

oh yeah I forgot about the ae ew chain.

really the only things that seem to come out of there were the ft3 boots, at least on my server, no one did the ring events except after the first time and after a few years a buddy of mine and I started doing gnome escort for the gaunts but they were removed by then.

I guess it had some good stuff in it, just didn't seem like it was worth it to people

Earring of Living Slime was pretty sweet for mages yea. While root is pretty cool, chain petting can be effectively root.

I hated the CT revamp, as well, because of how it affected the SK armour quest. My absolute favourite span of time playing were the levels I spent in CT getting pieces for that quest. Moving the mobs outside didn't have nearly the same appeal.

But I completely understand Sony's reason for the upgrade.

P99 CT just isn't like classic ever was. So, shut the whole place down--

The gators pits in CT seem camped quite a bit but yea, its not like back in the day when there was 30 plus people in zone. Some of the most epic trains I've seen were in old school CT.
