Hi guys, looking for thoughts on good XP places for my sham friend to go.. we did com and it was ok I guess, didnt get much time to assess if it was really great, also went to lguk... but guk was not flowing :( Sage/exe was ok but ass/sup sucked cus much was green to my 44 enchanter. Lord/AM is like lvl 47/45 which is kind of pusshing it we think.
Anyone have any tips they would like to share? Thanks! especially specific spots inside zones :D

bottom of splitpaw by executioners/judges for around 40 is excellent, dunno if you're evil, but think SolA gnomes are decent exp as well at around 40. can even pop into SolB do some royals or bnb as you get a bit higher.

Xalgoz area in kaesora is viable, possibly some greens at 44.
COudl do the nobles etc in hhk, but that comes with faction problems!
also optionsoin permafrost, but tbh its just too remote)
its bit boring, but specs in front of pofear+ the necro woman. bitof dull camp tho, and no great zem.

CoM is good and consistent mostly, plus the shaman gets to work on epic factioning!
Depending on how much you guys care about getting that click stick for the shaman id say stay there until CoM factioning is complete. With the shaman epic he can start root rotting 4 at a time easy!
What? Lguk by sage/exe is amazing experience until 47, and then you could probably stretch it until 48.

What I did on my shaman - then I moved over to lord hall trash and dragged that out until 51. Then HS entrance / basement.

SolA gnomes are decent exp as well at around 40.
SolA gnomes have stupid high MR and would be a nightmare for an ench/sham duo.
CoM is also overcamped. Half the nights you would login and be unable to find merbs.
If you play during peak hours a lot of places won't be too hot because of over population. Assuming you are playing peak hours or already know the popular camps, I'll just exclude those (places like sol b, CoM, etc).
Droga/Nurga may have some camps that are good levels, and aside from a few cash camps those zones are almost perpetually empty. Dreadlands has mobs every where - even with bards kiting half the zone there are still a ton of mobs. EJ/TT probably have a few camps that are level appropriate. Kedge is probably an option if you don't mind the water.
I started playing my ench at like 46 or 47, and mostly did the CoM ramparts, so I'm not sure how resists are in a lot of those places. With Sham/Ench duo I'm assuming you're charming / slowing, so just use the wiki to search for good pets, meaning mobs that are 75-80% of your level (so 33-35ish at 44) and go to those zones.
Really though, CoM is hard to beat until the low 50s if you can get enough mobs.

I did DL till like 52. An endless supply of mobs (bards notwithstanding) and a great safe spot.
- CoM Moat til 50ish, then head upstairs.
- SolB Bats (might need to be a bit higher for this, I forget what level they are)
- Spirocs in TD (again, can't remember exact levels on these either, might be more suited to high 40s/low 50s

why are peeps suggesting unoriginal BS like this? Put ya bloody brainz in gear!
although i will admit spirocs arent overcamped.....
Cant believe anyone is saying COM. HOw are you goona get camps there at peak times? /boggle
DO something daring/original...eg kedge keep (not that i seriously recommend that zone)
SOmething out the way...somethign differnt!
/rant off.
Do SolB royals until about 48.
Have the shaman cast Vision into the rooms and acquire targets, and have the enchanter lull them through the wall. Once the camp is broken it's smooth sailing and good xp. If you're a mega-badass you can just pull the whole room and charm-root-clusterfuck it all down. But if you're a mega puss just go to dreadlands

Awesome posts guys! Thanks for responding so far. I want to give my experiences to help aid anyone else looking for this same stuff. Maybe help us all find great new spots.
So With Exe/sage I found it to be fantastic solo - ok Duo - at 44 too many greens to make it a good spot for 2 people IMO. At 40 I started just killing pathers at the exe/sage room, and 2 pulling the sage room with a charm/root on the caster, sitting around corner while my scribe/scribePH pet and Sage/Sageph fight eachother to death. The Exe room was easy to lull and pull too. Then you add the cav room at 43+ and the savant room etc (but as I said greens get mixed in there, ew gross no greens plz).
Com Temple/Stables are awesome obviously, but often camped. I have never done Arena and barely done moat - So we could try there I'm sure. Are there any secret out of the way places in Com someone could give me directions to? The best thing about a Duo/Solo is that you can get to places wrangling 6 people to get to would be a nightmare (Did I say 6 people? sorry 6 man groups turn people into feral cats, I meant wrangling 6 feral cats to)
So any secret spots, any camps off the beaten path, X spawns X adds etc? The more information we can share here the less secret spots there will.. be... wait that sounds like a terrible idea... no whatever what difference does it make there's only a small # of awesome people that read these forums so lets share! ...
What about kunark? I hate much of kunark, the goblins are so ugly and annoying and have given me such a headache trying to traverse around but whatever, I suppose we can kill them... I just dont know of the good spots, or the good camps in those spots.
Thanks!
Also The spirocks or however they are spelled, I have never seen.. (personally I am an indoor fan) but would be interested in checking them out. I will look on some maps for their locations.
What I did on my shaman - then I moved over to lord hall trash and dragged that out until 51. Then HS entrance / basement.
We did exactly this last night Ass/Sup camp then after clear, xped outside of lord hallway for 26 minuets/repeat.

I will read up on droga/nurga today - any spots a lvl 45 should look for specifically as the sweet spot in them that you can remember? best # of mobs/safespots etc?
Where are the Ramparts? I am not familiar with that term.

Spirocs are good 49-53. The lightfoots aren't common enough to necessitate coming earlier, and LoIO bloodgills are vastly superior 45-49.

Would you say that there is enough for 2 people to keep a good flow of XP here? Or at solo is there some downtime? What we are used to is chain pulling in a group, and now we want that same feeling with 2 :)

From the time I spent there, it seemed like the whole KFC-esque area including all spirocs spawns could sustain a really good # of people. Probably ideal for a duo.
Also, the Spiroc Provens backstab. I don't think I need to explain further :)

Exactly. the building there where the spirocs spawn is identical to KFC in SK with a better spawn distribution (IMO). The inside of the top of the building only has two spawns and there are three spawns on the "diving board" type planks on the top level as well. If you're soloing, these are perfect @ 6 min respawn. I suspect a duo could easily handle those and go down a level or two to snag some of the ones in the previous levels.

This. Bloodgills in the Lake of Ill Omen are fantastic exp. I was quadding when I went, so your experience will alter a bit....but it was fantastic. Was very fast. They also have a chance to drop some gearz

another great thing is you don't have to worry about the Spirocs becoming KoS. You can finish killing 100 of them and then go afk sitting right next to one.
Very nice.

Ok intersted, anychance you could mark on this map your thoughts on best spot? Think of it as a sweet treasure map so it's like were RPing instead of like 'not expereincing classic eq' in case any cave trolls come reading :P

The bloodgills are in the middle of the lake. Just pick a safe shoreline to pull them to. I never had a specific preference.

Yep, and to explain more thoroughly - there are a few reasons bloodgills are the best quadding material 45-51.
Bloodgills range 35-39 and max out at ~1400 hp. Spectres - the main comparable mob for quadding at around that level - range 33-37 and have ~1600 hp. Spectres will make you a lot more money, but Bloodgills will level you faster and are easier. Bloodgills also don't lifetap + stop moving momentarily (screwing up their density) after you deal damage when they're within range.
There are other places you can easily quad at this level too, but they're simply not as good as bloodgills.
Pulling them is ridiculously easy for a wizard. I haven't done it as a druid, so I don't know how that compares. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll send you the procedure I used to pull them. I'd imagine it's more annoying/slower as a druid since I can pull them all full speed, get them into formation, then snare; as opposed to having to snare them individually.
EDIT: answering another question

The easiest ones to quad congregate around the 4 columns beneath the water in the middle of the lake. The north side was easier for me as a wizard. Why? Well, the bloodgills group 2 by 2. Each pillar has 2 of them. Some of the pillars actually separate the goblins from social aggro when you pull one. It's easier for me if both groups social aggro when I tag one of them. Both north pillar groups do that.

heh yes I do want to do kedge.. but maybe at 48-50. The Zem is high, but being an enchanter - you ahve to do a lot of pulling/quick casting.. kedge seems like it would make that very difficult :/
kedge is such a cool mysterious zone from the classic era, when I would see or hear of people that grouped there I held them in high regard.

So what did we end up doing last night? We went to Drooga. (http://wiki.project1999.com/Temple_of_Droga) the Zem list has it as a "?" (http://wiki.project1999.com/Recommended_Levels_and_ZEM_List) on the wiki - I would say it is even or a little on the + side, not sure though.
First off - nothing here see's invis, so travel to any camp is easy as it gets.
Second - there is a pit right at the entrance so if you are just 'checking it out' and dont have gate/invis be careful.
It was fantastic at this level. The mobs are so easy to lull & Pull if you need to, or just straight up 2-3 pull and CC with ease, MR is very low. The number of mobs in the area seemed to be nearly endless too, so we were able to keep xp flowing like crazy and there is a 22 min re-spawn so its pretty safe to set up camp anywhere.
As a chanter I was charming A Goblin Cavehunter - It backstabbed and held its own 1v1, which at this level range isnt all that easy to do (it's a little hard to keep a single pet up and still be mana efficient). I charmed the one wearing armor - there is another one with the same name that is not as efficient that doesn't wear armor.
The Chief (http://wiki.project1999.com/Chief_Rokgus) is a 3 spawn so that's ridiculously easy to solo in your 40's for loot/xp.
If only there was more than 2 exceptionally good money camps in this zone it would be more bussy I think. The chief and EoE mob are usually camped from what im *told* but if you can get the spot - call your friends and get them out there!
But wait till I get a few more levels :)
