View Full Version : How much pp/hour are Seafuries?
Hi guys, I never farmed seafuries in OOT and I remember >1 year ago people saying they made shy of 2kpp an hour there. Are they still such a decent plat camp, even if one has to deal with all the drama?

They're probably overestimating or giving you numbers when they had the place to themselves. Probably 500-1k per hour reasonably.

depends, are you an epiced out shaman or necro? if not, its not all that great.

Competition is far more the limiting factor with seafuries.

I'm so glad this thread is about EverQuest.

It's an iksar necro in its early thirties, and twinked with 5k. I know it's still to early.
But I intend the question to be more about the camp and less about wether I can manage it or not.

500-1k per hour is about right, assuming its not over camped, which it often is. I used to farm them often, but lately every time I attempt to its so over camped its not worth any of the effort. The only solid plus to the camp when it is not over camped is the guaranteed income over time, it's not as random as a named camp with a specific item drop. That said, the named camps while less consistent, can be camped more often due to just the sheer volume of camps with decent loot drops, seafuries is just that over camped.

As a bard charming either the Dino, Quag, or the dwarf merchant, between 1-1.5K is average. If no one is there at like 5 AM, I could pull maybe 2K per hour.

I would agree with the 500-1k per hour. Sure there are times when its not packed out and you can get maybe 1-2k if lucky on drops.
As stated it is a pretty good way to XP and Gtd getting some coin at the same time.

better places imo.
its also very boring!
try for north wing HS much harder but MORE fun and you really feel like you earned the plats. (awful CR tho.....)

CRs in HS almost never need to be bad. You just need to fight in the right spots (or just remember where to run if you are anticipating death) so you can drag yourself out of the wing (either by the door or through the tunnels below) easily.
HS, even just HS north, isn't really an option for some of the classes that could be farming plat at seafuries though. And it's not very good money for the classes that could be soloing stuff like that either, imo.

I used to top out in seafury killing efficiency at about 8-9 quads per hour. I was able to do this during off hours when I had the island to myself and also because I can go into Spirit of Oak between pulls and use Manastone/Robe of the Spring to get mana. So if I was the only one there, I could easily pull in numbers well in excess of 2k per hour.
But the key, as was mentioned earlier, is that usually the other people there are the limiting factor. I haven't done seafuries since last year, so I imagine it gets even more crowded than ever now, especially with the market deflation we have going on. Given how much prices have fallen, farming seafuries is effectively twice as lucrative now as it was last summer.
Totally depends on when you play...if you only play during "peak" hours, I would say don't waste your time. But if you show up as a 51 necro during the morning, I would say give it a shot because the exp would be decent (not great) and you can probably pull in a few hundred plat per hour.

you mean wiz/dru/bards?
granted. Am not into quad classes, so for those, outdoor zones are better......
Think big part hs pp comes from spell drops, not just items.
its a rough zone though, sometimes more hassle than its worth.
very addictive tho )

It depends on class and how camped it is. Ench prolly farms them best if alone in oot, which never happens. In this case I think you might get close to 2k/hr. Normal circumstances more like 500-1k

Epic mage pet tears thru seafuries like butter.
Also, there needs to be a rule somewhere that shammies need to cast at least 1 mana costing dot when doing seafuries. Watching a shammy root rotting 4-5 with only epic dot is just frustrating. Not only hogging so many but keeping those from repopping as well. Same with that quad kiter kiting around 3 for days just waiting for that 4th.
Just burn em down already.
