Might be winEQ, not sure. Not sure many use that as the titanium allows windowed mode anyway.

Edit- Sorry, just checked the getting started and saw wineq listed there. I have real idea what that program does so ignore my ignorance, lol.

Do you make it to the login Everquest Screen where you put your name and password?
If so this problem is resolution related
You need to go to options and lower it

windowed resolution is in your eqclient.ini file open with notepad/wordpad mine is set to something like 1280x768 it is towards the bottom. this fixed my memory error

It may not have the .ini tag on it, but its there I'm sure. It will be the eqclient file that is a text program. You should be able to open it up and edit the resolution from there.

There is a bay where pirates dwell. I commandeered it there.

Bad download then? Not sure. But you need those files, if they're missing you'll never be able to play. Sorry, wish I could help you out further.

Have you tried posting in the technical forum? They will most likely be of much more help.

Nah good download. It was ISO discs, I installed it just like you should.

Maybe I will reinstall.

Maybe you should go back there and look for EQRed99.zip. It is not an ISO and all you need to do is add the new patch to it and it is already configured.

No such luck finding it on the bay

If you installed EQ to your Program Files folder, then you will need to make sure you run it "As Administrator" or move your EQ folder outside of Program Files. Otherwise, the INI files will be generated somewhere in your AppData folder.

Don't download the EQRed99.zip file. Ever.

I see talk about the Mac EQ and CaseyEQ but nothing about eqred99. I know the one I downloaded did not have a trojan in it. To each their own, always perform good security practices and you should be good.

I've had no issues with the eqred99 files.

Yes, AVG "detected a virus" in a .DLL file included in the eqred99 download. AVG also "detected a virus" in the SAME file in the "Project 1999 Files v33' download.

For that matter, AVG "detected a virus" at the login prompt when I tried to run WinEQ 2, which I installed straight from the download off the Lavishsoft website and had not yet pointed at the Project 1999 install directory.

AVG is really good at generating false positives, and I got the same false positives from Avast on another computer. In fact, many "heuristic" virus detections (often denoted by "HEUR" at the front of the name) are not actually viruses. Heuristic detection essentially says "this file acts like it might be a virus, so it's been blocked just in case".
