NorrathMap (http://www.norrathmap.com) is an EQ mapping app that lets you see your location within a zone. It is easy to setup, configure, maintain and use. Alpha phase (invite only registration) is over, and Beta phase has started. We'd love for you to give NorrathMap a try. Not saying that you can't give a throw-away email address for registration, but who's to say that whoever is running this thing isn't pulling the location information and viewing it for themselves or their guild?

As for a forum account, I don't forum participate really. If I have extra time, I try to spend it in game and not on the forums.

No, it isn't the same app, but it is a similar concept. There is another map app floating around too.

What makes NorrathMap special is the fact that it is super easy to setup, configure, maintain, and use. I don't think you can say that about these others apps.

I'm not a famous red-1999er. I don't post in the forums. I only have 1 level 60 on red (0 on blue), and it took me over a year of casual play to get it. But my way to contribute to the community is to make tools people find helpful.

I've run the file through multiple virus and malware scanners and all have come up clean.

I'd suggest taking a look at http://www.file-analyzer.net/analysis/4647/14040/1/html though to decide for yourself if it's safe.

I think a map app done right will look more like a heads up display that does not interfere with game play.

If he had a brain in his head he would make it to where players don't receive position updates from PCs unless they are in a certain radius so that things like showeq/showemu wouldn't even work. Images did it on ROFLzek which made it impossible to map cheat.
