Bard Creation - Religion

Is there really any cities outside of Ogguk that bards can sneak into with Guise of the deceiver if they're agnostic?

Or does religion not really matter for them outside of that instance and the outpost in OT.

Religion does not matter much. Some armor is deity specific but nothing great for bards. Only bards can be Veesshan, which I think is sort of cool.

Just fyi if you choose a evil diety like Rallos Zek you will run into some places in cities where clerics/paladins will attack you.

Neriak is mostly safe if you worship a neutral god or agnostic. As a bard you want to worship neutral gods, for mask illusions, otherwise you will come across spots where you are KOS.

I went tunare so I could use mystic koada'dal. I bought some when I was like 40 and used it until I was in my 50s and got all my hate armor. It was nice.


Since then the price of mystic koada'dal has skyrocketed and it's probably not worth buying anymore. Probably best to just join a Hate guild, there's a lot of them now.

Just FYI there is diety free version Mystic Koada'dal armor. It has the exact same stats minus the WIS which bards don't need anyway. IIRC the diety free stuff costs less too.

agnostic human bard is non-kos in OT outpost which can be pretty helpful

Agnostic WE bard is non kos with faction song. I turned in war braids from my kites to get dubious without faction song without too much problem.

Even without the braids you can bank and sell there - just use your flute on one of the golems. You can walk close enough without aggro to sing on them with care.

Or Agnostic WE bard with mask of deception is non-kos in OT as well.

I vaguely recall that being a Veeshan bard had some sort of benefit with Skyshrine faction in Velious, but I'm not sure if it was enough to make you non-kos.

the RZ cultural is pretty good, other than that there is no need to pick a deity.

theres no need for any class to pick one it doesnt do anything but screw up your faction, unless you really wanted that cultural armor until planar which also isnt necessary at all..
