I would seriously do it if some Nihilum pals wanted to start one as a 3rd option, at least until Velious when we'll see if the population is high enough to sustain even a 2nd guild that can compete numbers wise. It would be a smaller guild, probably in the 20-30 active person range, level 60 required and the application process would be much more stringent.

Azrael were fielding 50+ players and were stomping a small nilly core with app base. Nilly could barely field 20 on a repop day and it was mostly apps.

Azrael also demonstrated their true colours to the server, making constant threads about 0 dragons for nihilum, as well as talking about pity dragons that nihilum would never get. If it wasn't for all that shit on the forums, I reckon they would have enough fresh blood to compete. Unfortunately they chose to rely on players like sektors to fill their ranks. Look how that worked out.

Nihilum are actually a mature bunch and actively choose to avoid the forums (except a small handful that enjoy the forums as much as the game).

this is very true, not to mention the 80 level 60 alts VP geared there as well. i try not to explain that part because most normal people in this world would assume having alts like that ready is not possible. its amazing how far nihilum will go to cockblock every guild on the server from progressing.

99 - 50 = 49 Nihilum.

We had no mains logged in KC, we had tons of alts but so few people died from Nihilum in the KC battle that it wast needed.

Results 45 dead Azrael and friends, 11 dead Nihilum.

End result was Azraels A crew got spanked by a equal number force of Nihilum. Seeing Azrael could not take Nihilum with even numbers many started abandoning ship. Azrael 12.0 died that day.

Not that it matters but that is not at all what was going to happen. We saw great value in being able to recruit moderately geared level 60s instead of having to do all that work ourselves.

Long term we knew Azrael was no threat. They would crumble as soon as we put in any effort and stomped them a few times.

no problem with that at all. I have no problem with growing Azrael to that number, but we would like to go about it the correct way, which simulated repops allows for. Gradual growth. Not in this server's format where you have to go about it through taking in practically whatever you can get. Which forces people to take actions such as guild inviting people like checkraise which Nihilum has had to reluctantly recruit on more than one occasion now. Every time Checkraise has gotten into Nihilum has been in times of Desperation. It is no secret when Red Dawn broke up Nizzar wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. The first time he had to sneak in on ricardo, this time Nizzar wanted nothing to do with him. But you guys had to invite him because you needed numbers. Not because you liked him, not because he is a cool dude who you genuinely enjoy ... No, most of the guild didn't want him and after Red Dawn broke up this guy had nowhere to go. But because of the fact that you were getting fucked you have to sacrifice what your guild is about and take absolutely any disliked prick.

We could have had Checkraise . Colgate would tell us every day about how he wanted to join us, that neckbeard could have been fighting on our behalf, but we simply do not operate that way. Having greater numbers and doing anything to win is not what we are about. We like a chill environment and to play with people whose company we genuinely enjoy. That shouldn't mean we can't compete.

As checkraise has stated a million times, during the classic times there were patches every other week which would allow smaller guilds to remain relevant, still bring in some loot, and which means if you want loot you don't have only one option.

Every live PVP server had one dominate guild/group taking 95% of the raid targets for extended periods. I have never argued against simulated repops either, just variance.

no problem with that at all. I have no problem with growing Azrael to that number, but we would like to go about it the correct way, which simulated repops allows for. Gradual growth. Not in this server's format where you have to go about it through taking in practically whatever you can get. Which forces people to take actions such as guild inviting people like checkraise which Nihilum has had to reluctantly recruit on more than one occasion now. Every time Checkraise has gotten into Nihilum has been in times of Desperation. It is no secret when Red Dawn broke up Nizzar wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. The first time he had to sneak in on ricardo, this time Nizzar wanted nothing to do with him. But you guys had to invite him because you needed numbers. Not because you liked him, not because he is a cool dude who you genuinely enjoy ... No, most of the guild didn't want him and after Red Dawn broke up this guy had nowhere to go. But because of the fact that you were getting fucked you have to sacrifice what your guild is about and take absolutely any disliked prick.

We could have had Checkraise . Colgate would tell us every day about how he wanted to join us, that neckbeard could have been fighting on our behalf, but we simply do not operate that way. Having greater numbers and doing anything to win is not what we are about. We like a chill environment and to play with people whose company we genuinely enjoy. That shouldn't mean we can't compete.

On TZ high end mobs weren't even being dropped till PDM formed up and started doing them - so basically one guild was capable of doing the content until in Velious and beyond.

Same thing on RZ until the sabbat formed...but it always ends up that way. Biggest difference here is the population. No amount of trashing your rep gets you blacklisted because warm bodies are needed en masse to win this shit.

What made VZTZ better than Red99 was the wipes every so often and the new drama / problems that would arise from the wipe. Plus the pvp was ten times more fun than this shit. You've got an increase in population...hooray, but these new players are competing against or settling into a zerg against pve machines drooling at the pve potential that velious brings. Your second or third guild won't fix the problem, leveling the playing field will...but you've let your new changes fester for too long and even the newer players will be contentious towards wiping the server. Red99 will die in time.

Red99 has changed dramatically since its first release...if this current build is the way you want the server to operate, wipe it and give the fresh slate to everyone (but Nizzar of course, only fitting to name bash him.)
