I was recently kiting in OT with a pretty big group of mobs (no other bards in the area for a change!) and after I gathered quite a few I started to circle up and noticed the mobs were lagging out pretty bad. Unfortunately I went LD and wasn't sure if it was related to the amount of mobs. Anyone have any insight or tips to keep this from happening.

I am on 100mb fiber wired and never really have any other connection issues. Thanks!

I have a crappy connection sometimes and I don't get dc from huge mob trains. You must have just gotten unlucky and your connection went out for a few moments, enough to disconnect you from the game.

It's really hard to say. I'd recommend doing /showspellefffects off and turning down graphics settings such as turning off the sky under display options. Some zones like Dreadlands seem to cause people to desync or lag out more than other zones due to big trains.

I've only disconnected once, and that happened this past week. The game brought up the "You have been disconnected screen", but otherwise, I've never had any issues whereas people near my train might desync.

Also, every time someone zones in the game loads those resources into memory. There can be micro-lag stutters during this process. The only remediation for these issues is to run EQ from SSD or RAMdisk (http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130192&highlight=ramdisk).

Interesting, this only happened once so far and it was just a couple days ago. It said "You were disconnected". I am running the game off my Crucial M4 so it should have plenty of speed. I wonder if it was just a fluke. Thanks for the info guys!

Also, if you or anyone near you levels up while kiting as well, you'll get the micro-lag stutter.

Unfortunately, I only have a SSD on my 13 inch laptop which is not as enjoyable as my 27 inch desktop, ha.

I have noticed that since I have been in Lake of Ill Omen I get lag only in one turn of my circle as a bard. Its always the same part of my circle no matter where I'm kiting at. Every time I turn to face back toward the lake it lags on me. I ate a couple deaths the first few times it happened. Turned my effects down bit it did t seem to help.

Turn off new water, use the old water. You'll likely have to zone or relog for it to take effect.

Hope you guys have /showspelleffects off, and your clip plane turned all way down! [In Alt+O or use shortcut key which is Shift +/-]

Ok I'll try turning water and showspelleffwcts off when I'm playing tonight and see how it goes. Thanks.
