Greetings new players!

This grant, named after a naked human with an iksar head and tail who has a strange attachment to small puppies, is a grant of a hefty amount of equipment that will be incredibly useful in your journeys among the lesser races of Norrath.

Those selected to receive the Cucumbers Honorary Iksar Warrior (and Shadow Knight) Grant for Lizard Excellence will receive a full visible set of Trooper Scale or Dreadscale (depending on class), as well as, if needed, a set of AC/HP rings. You will receive these at no cost to yourself, with the hope that you will make use of it as you become a greater member of the Iksar master race.

The armor is donated by Cucumbers and I for the benefit of low level players. If you are an older player, or have a wealth of gear already, please do not apply. Let new players get this benefit so they do not have as much trouble in grouping as a new melee player.

If you are a new member who seeks to enjoy this game as an Iksar Warrior or Shadow Knight, all you need to do to apply is to send me a message with:

1) Your Level, Class, Race.
2) Tell me why you decided to join the Iksar master race?

We'll see who is interested, and pass out the items in a few days.

Greetings all!

So, we got a bunch of applications for the Cucumbers Honorary Iksar Warrior (and Shadow Knight) Grant for Lizard Excellence! A lot more Shadow Knights than Warriors, so the choices were significantly limited, but we made do the best we could.

First off, I'll say that what we were seeking was not a reroll. We wanted people who were already created Iksar characters. In addition, we were giving priority to people who seemed to be fully invested in the character that they were playing. So super low level characters (1-10) were something we sought to avoid. We want to be as sure as possible that this armor will be used by a main, new player, so that they can go forward for Lizard Excellence!

So, with that, here's the outcome:

One Full Suit of Dreadscale Armor and Two Platinum Fire Wedding Rings will be given to Krayt (Forum: Xixor), the Level 22 Iksar Shadow Knight!

One Full Suit of Trooper Scale Armor and Two Platinum Fire Wedding Rings will be given to Kartis of the guild <Rants and Flames> (Forum: ahdamejame), the level 20 Iksar Warrior!

One Full Suit of Trooper Scale Armor and Two Platinum Fire Wedding Rings will be given to Whirled (Forum: Whirled), the badly geared 50 Iksar Warrior! (Seriously, if he's going to tank KC, he's going to need more than Banded. This ain't Mistmoore).

Now, we had a variety of other applicants all who were fantastic, so we have some follow ups!

One Dreadscale Breastplate, Two Platinum Fire Wedding Rings, and a full suit of Banded Armor (with the exception of the BP) will be given to Dermal (Forum: Peon25), 10 Iksar SK!

A Helm of the Rile, Two Platinum Fire Wedding Rings, a full suit of Banded Armor will be given to Korlong (Forum: Drakestang), 4 Iksar Warrior!

But wait, there's more! Everyone else that applied for a character they were playing, I will create a suit of Banded Armor for, should they deem it better than the leather crap they have. It truly sucks to see a level 8 Shadow Knight get nothing just because he was lower level, because it could just be bad timing, and the fact that we don't have enough Dreadscale to just give out.

Sup all! Please be around Cabilis at some point this weekend. I think I will be able to upgrade all the Banded armor to cultural. Working on that now. The blood will be the trickiest part to get in bulk... But hey, if you bring me a bunch of Iksar, Sarnak, and Froglok blood, I should be able to upgrade your banded to Cultural armor. :D

I am going to dump a bunch of suits of Banded, the armor, and rings onto a mule toon parked there. So get in contact with me, and I'll jump on the mule. :D

Honest, it's all about starting location. New players starting in Faydwer, or in Antonica from Rivervale, Oggok, over towards Freeport all have good options for unloading their scavenged crap for banded armor or weapons in EC ranging from 20 to 50pp. For those in Faydwer it's a boat ride over, banking all of your crap after buying what you need, and punching out a guard to Ranger Gate back home.

Iksar kinda get boned. They get a bazillion bone chips with no simple way of getting them to market, almost no higher level people that will sell banded armor cheap or combine their mats at a forge (easy as shit to do in North Freeport if you beg), etc.

While it's really possible to run a level 1 Iksar to the Overthere to hop on a boat, swim to the firepot room, and appear somewhere else, it's the banking part that's the big problem. Invis is sorta needed to bank in Freeport, Kelethin, and Felwithe.

Qeynos is the armpit of Norrath so no one cares about anyone rolling from there, or Erudin.

Edit - thinking it over, I guess an Iksar could blow 20 to 30pp on a cloudy potion set to cover touching a firepot that leads to a risky exit point + banking use. That's about what a Druid would expect for a tip so the boat / firepot route is still viable to unload crap in EC. It's just extra time consuming.
