The Monk Death Squad is currently on hiatus until it becomes a bit easier to log on to beta
The goal of the Monk Death Squad is to farm the Avatar of War using Whirlwind Discipline, thus proving the superiority of the Monk class and providing our members with large numbers of Flayed Barbarian Skin Leggings.
How it works: All of our monks will show up with 41% haste and wielding the Epic Fist / Wu's Fist of Mastery (Don't have one? fuck off scrub) which means that their hate/s will be only dependent on dual wield and double attack checks. Aggro transfer will be accomplished via the midnight mallet.
Base case: the first monk just pumps in 4 mallet charges.
Inductive case: Monk N is attacking the Avatar of War. He has put 4 mallet charges in. Monk N+1 puts two mallet charges and readies riposte discipline. At 7 seconds in N calls for N+1 to Whirlwind, and FD's one second later. As soon as the Avatar turns to face Monk N+1, he puts in 2 mallet charges and the cycle continues.
Other details: All other monks will face the side to avoid ripostes as the avatar is flipped from side to side. The Avatar of War does not rampage, so one Whirlwind monk suffices for tanking purpose (it's going to be a bit trickier with Vindi). Bring a good 2HB to equip while riposting.
How many monks do we need? Let's assume the Avatar of War has 1 million hitpoints and each of our monks can do 60 dps. We can last N*7 seconds with chain whirlwind, and each second we do 60n dps, which gives (60 N) (N * 7) = 1000000. Solving for N gives 48.8 monks. Allowing a bit of a margin for error, we'll bring 55.
No other classes will be allowed. Presumably we'll have plenty alts to buff us up.
All non-monk loot will be deleted; Monk loot will be randomed /10000.
Guildleader: Raev.
Officers: Elzhi.
edits: math fixed as Whirlwind discipline lasts only 9 seconds, not 12.
