I am a long time EQ player looking to become a member of project99. I was told I can only install by using EQ titanium. Is this true? If not how do I install and get this going? Sorry not very computer savy....

Yes, you must have a clean install of EQ Titanium. Nothing else will work.

You can buy it somewhere, or download it thru a torrent, or however other means you can get your hands on it, then you just have to follow the directions for installing, setting up an account, and then just connect like old times.

I really wouldn't buy it from Amazon, lets just say that.

SamwiseRed, I followed that advice and my antivirus was going crazy.
I was downloading EverQuest_Titanium_Client_-_For_Project_1999_Emulated_Servers

Im like someones grapndmother using the internet for the first time when it comes to torrents, and I figured it out relatively easily.
You just get balls deep and get in there and pull that fucking train or you'll pull nothing and all. Thats what I told meyself.
I did all the stuff that Samwise's link said to do, I was like, 'what are all these images? what is thi..s this is secret code!!!' and then I just went and got that titanium like I was a teenager who wanted to get that free version of the Bangerz album. (do teenagers even still download music?)

I followed the images, but every file I try to download gets flagged and deleted by my antivirus.

I would disable that antivirus for the duration of setup. It should have an option somewhere in the antivirus control pannel or settings or whatever.
I would also not use anti virus in general and use chrome with addblock (in my experience anti virus will cause more problems than careful web browsing will ever cause you) Corporations that own anti virus software are way more evil on their best day, than the most evil of hackers would ever be to a normal PC user.

If the file you are downloading gets flagged by your anti virus I would not do what iruinedyourday mentions. The correct file does not install. You just unzip(rar) it and go. If you have to use antivirus, just use Microsoft essentials(win7) Windows Defender(win8). Anything else is just bloatware and needs to be uninstalled.

Haha to each there own.
Well the file that I got from the forum did need to install, you had to make images of the disks and do all that cryptic stuff before you could play. It was not just a Rar file. I wished it was, because I'm not in IT and I hate computers.
So if your confused about why you need to install stuff to get Titanium to work, don't be.
Do what I say if your not a pussy.
Oh also afterword I had to fix a bunch of shit on my computer, like the normal fucked up crap that people would get antivirus to block, so that's probably why yours is going nuts.
I was honestly surprised there wasn't a hosted clean download for a game client, because after all, isn't 100% of this illegal? Like, would that really be crossing the line? I dono. I was going to put my client up up for download for that reason, but now it's been a month and my memory is not good enough to know how to do that.

when downloading torrents, click the magnet link. doing otherwise is a great way to infect your pc with something that may end you up in penitentiary.

That site is pissing me off. After messing around there for a few mins my computer keeps trying to randomly install programs in the background, my homepage and search provider are changed every time I log on. Honestly, as much as I want to try out P1999 it's not worth all this BS.

I never download any torrents without planning on formatting the next day.

magnet links do not protect you from malware nor legal action.

Ccleaner, HiJack This or some newer cleaner can help out. Hi Jack This is a little more involved as you need to know what NOT to delete- so BE WARNED; IF USING IT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT TO REMOVE!
