Cannot trade get booted.

My lvl 8 paladin is in South Qeynos trying to turn in few gnoll fangs to Captain Tillins and he (the paladin) keeps going link dead. I tried to turn in a crate of arrows to another NPC in same zone (South Qeynos)and again went link dead. So I went to North Qeynos and tried to turn in a water flask to a guard and again went link dead. My toons name is Ironcup. I attempted to do these turn ins from a different locatoin (different IP address) and I went link dead from that location as well.

So I logged in my wizard in Greater Faydware and was able to turn in a rusty sword to a guard without any issues. So I do not think it is on my end; perhaps my "quest que" is full on the paladin? if there is something like that software wise?

I need some help. The Boldness is an edit. Paladin's name is Ironcup

I have also tried to turn the gnoll fangs in to Lysbith McNaff in Halas and I also go Link Dead.

I tried to hand an item to a guildie (PC) last night and went LD. This only occurs on my paladin and not my wizard.

Do you have any XML errors when you load in to the game? i.e red text?

If it's happening every trade, I'd say delete and replace your UI files, but since this is only happening on one character, I'd say find this file in your eq directory:

Ellia_project1999.ini

Or whatever Paladin's name if that isn't it.

Delete the file, the game will recreate it. You may have a trade window that's out of the bounds of the UI on that character or somesuch.

deleted UI for toon, recreated UI, actually left is all jumbled up. Attempt to hand in gnoll fang, still went LD.

I also go LD when handing something to a PC so it's something to do with the trade window. But only on the Paladin, wizard is fine. No issues with the wizard regarding trades.

Edit: also tried "/loadskin velious" again LD no dice.

Very Frustrating.

Went to a buddy's house and again Ironcup goes LD upon handing in an Item.

I created a newbie in Qeynos and I have no problems handing in items. I'm at a lose and need some in game help I think.

At the advise of a GM I did a search for ALL files named Ironcup and deleted them....upon completion, I relogged in, recreated my UI...ran back to Qeynos and handed in 1 gnoll fang...bang LD.

normally on live I would have suggested to delete your zone files, but since there is no auto update here, try make a reinstall of your client in a new dir.

p.s. the xml errors Simplistick referes to is not when you crash.

Its when you "login" to the game.

If something is wrong with your ui files, the game will write in chat right after loading in red text that your xml files is corrupted and that you should load default ui ... "NOT" velius ui.

Its not certain it is the ui, but it could be.

It's not his files, or his computer. He's deleted all of his character specific files and has had the same problem on a completely different computer, isolated to one specific character. Just about the only thing left that it could be, is a server side database corruption of his character.

It's not my zone files either because I can do item turn in with other toons in the same zone with no issues. No i get no message upon loading the game regarding zone files being corrupt.

perhaps Admin can move my toon files from blocks AE0001000 to another spot on the Hard Drive? That's an example...perhap my toon's information is sitting on bad bit.

Trade window on the Pally looks like the same trade window on the Wizard, in their UI files.

well. today a high level gnome gave me a splitpaw hide belt and face mask, to my astonishment i didnt got LD & I was also able to hand in gnoll fangs; either that generious gnome fixed it by initating a trade or admin did....either case thank you.

The quest is given out at the bard guild. Handing in the first part of the quest, the blank reports to bards around Qeynos only serves to make my client crash. On one occasion the npc disappeared.

Next time you're on that character, send Anleus a tell. Sounds like a bug that we've seen a couple times before, and it's an easy fix.

Well I randomly interacted with a fire beetle and tried to trade something to it and that made my client crash too, so maybe it's something more general and on my end.

Any ideas? Why does my client crash every time I try to hand something to an npc?

Not sure what causes it. Hopefully we can figure that out. This is only the third time it's been posted, and it's a relatively recent bug.

What we do know for sure is that it should be specific to that character, and will occur on any computer you log in from.

/friending Drasis, if your character's name in game is something different let me know.

Everytime I try to trade with a NPC I get booted to log in. It first happened when I tried to drop spiderling legs on the ground and accidentally tried to trade with a jungle spider. I got booted. Now I am trying to hand my lvl 1 note to my warrior GM, on my lvl 4 warrior, and it keeps booting me to log in.

I just did a trade with a PC so....

Only happening on my ogre warrior, not any other toons.

I had this problem as well on my paldine but not my wizard, somehow I got resolved but I still dont know how.
