A few things stand out.

- He joined server and immediately went to Nihilum who was already winning and began this air of superiority shit.... that's going to draw flames.

- I'm aware the pvp leader board went down from time to time, I don't get on this shit for that although other people did. However when he began editing out kills because guildies told him "they were link dead" or took out all of Colgate's kills or left him as the only kill up there... I and others started to have a problem. Especially when he constantly pointed to it as a "look how great we are". Mind you, it was filled with Tune griefing people with barely any resist gear at all with unresistable bard bullshit (unique to this server).

- The real tipping point is when he started harassing Nilbog about how he should be fired like in the real world for his lack of releasing Velious. I've seen countless times where most people would have just said fuck this, fuck you guys, see ya later but he keeps on making the shit classic and reading our complaints and implementing classic content. In fact, I'd be curious to know how many times Nilbog was ready to quit and why.

I actually felt a little bad about how much shit people (me included) gave Elderan because I have a conscience. However, I know it isn't going to stop with him so I'm not exactly torn up about it lol.

Never once removed data from the boards unless is was duplicate data. If someone was LD when they were killed oh well that's part of the game. I got tons of tells/pms from both sides asking for data to be removed but this never happened, not even once.

Colgates along with many peoples kills were not showing as part of the bug that lasted for less than 12 hours. Data was always intact but the stored procedure was bugged. Maybe I could have fixed it within the hour but decided to wait until the next morning.

When elderan joined nihilum there was literally no other guild on the server. You can't hate on people for joining the only guild that slays dragons. There was a good eight month period of zero pvp over targets. I understand your position of not acting the bad ass, but I can't hate on people for joining what was the only viable guild at the time.

That is what I said at the time because you were annoying me, and it got some good laughs. But it was just a bug on the sp I was working on. I was trying to limit the amount of data the sp had to pull in to calculate some of the totals and some guilds and people not in the top select were being cut out by accident. Was a pretty simple mistake but the reaction was Azrael was within 1 min of me executing the new, buggy sp.

Got to understand. Azrael started winning when Nizzar took a break. I took a break when Nizzar did. The boards were still running but I did not pay as much attention to them at that time. The gaps in the logs got larger due to not paying as much attention because I was not playing.

Anyone could have sent me the logs and I would have imported them. But no one ever did, even when I asked. So I stopped asking.

He isn't a bad guy at all, in scene or behind it. I told him multiple times to change the board to record nothing but Nihilum kills/deaths as a service to our guild because of the outrageous amount of bullshit he had to put up with. Dude would have text alerts going off at 3 AM because a data collection character disconnected and he'd wake up and take care of it.

In well over a half of a year being in TS with the guy and getting to know him not once did he talk about modifying PVP kills. HE DID NOT DO IT. You won't believe me. I don't care. Dude spent his own time and money putting up a service for the server and took nothing but shit for it.

You don't like it? Don't look at it. Or make your own. Sad part is Elderan had some big plans for the thing that would have made the server pretty cool. At one point he was talking to Nizzarr about putting up Nihilum guild bank loot up as prizes for weekly/monthly/season type "pvp champs". None of that stuff will ever happen because a few idiots decide heap shit on the guy. Too bad, its a loss for all of us.

This came via the request of a GM. People did not want to take deaths in the arena because of the boards so people were hesitant to do GM events there. Nihilum had 3x the kills of anyone else in the arena so they lost more kills than anyone.

Also I was working on a system which allied guild kills against allied guilds would not be counted. Just like guild vs guild kills were never counted.

The entire point of the boards were to record real pvp, not fake pvp.

There are quite a few non classic things specific to PVP I agree, but a lot of them are there for a reason. Based on your previous posts I tend to agree with you I believe on resists for example. But things like nerfing ivandyr's hoops and soulfires, etc just need to be done. What hurts this server in delivering anything close to those of us who played in the RZ/TZ/VZ/SZ days is one simple thing: population. Not sure that problem can be solved, you only have so many people willing to try this game out for the first time now, and only so many willing to come back and play it again. Maybe in Velious we'll see 300-400 and get a 3rd or even 4th guild in on the action but I'm not holding my breath. As much as people will piss on the teams concept, it will attract people at least at first just because it will be the latest and greatest chance to experience vanilla EQ. Maybe we'll have some people stick around after a merge to whatever ruleset and keep 300+ for a few years, who knows.

Won't even bring up item loot, I think Nirgon's classic senses are tingling.
