Brand new to P99 Red

Heard about red99 and I came running.

Is anyone around at this late hour and wants to start a character with me? Not 100% sure what I'll be, but im down to bank off someone so we work well together.

At least you know you are making a bad decision. Welcome to R99 though, more newbies is always good.

Please, for your own sake, consider leveling something other than probably the most gear dependent and important to a group melee role. With the XP bonus, you will likely hit 30-40 without wearing anything but rawhide and using shitty bronze weapons. Even if you find a vet to make you banded / donate bronze armor, you'll always be a bad aggro generating tank on a server filled with twinked monks and rogues.

Porters / any caster is far easier to level, you'll get groups, gain the ability to farm for plats or weapons that proc, etc. Ultimately, play what you want I guess, but expect your healers to hate you.

Grab a few high agro proc weapons on the cheap like ykeshas or obsidian shard proc'ing weapons and you'll basically tank exactly at 30 as you will at 60.

Warriors do solid DPS too. If you can find groups they are a great class to play and level up.

I know its a horrible first choice, played eq for a long time myself. But i want to be a warrior in the end and dont want to level up a caster just to be able to level up my warrior again but twinked. Long live bad choices!

Im suprised, I figured no freebies on a red server. I figured everyone would be making level 1 chars seeing me make one and just rape me till i get so mad I go to fucking bed. Lol =(

We want people here bro. Without an EC tunnel type area people rarely waste time traveling to banks and stuff over 50-100pp type items. Easier just to give it away and hope someone sticks around.

Use ooc to find groups/ports. Unrest, Crushbone, Guk are pretty popular but you'll get some PVP.

I did EC, Befallen, Unrest, Mistmoore, and City of Mist currently.

I generally see lfm messages for crushbone and unrest often. Oasis has been fairly popular recently also.

If you don't have anyone specifically to xp with, ask in /o if anyone is willing to duo / start an xp group and hopefully a porter can arrange something for you. You will have to do a bit of work to find groups, especially early on it seems, but the exp makes it worthwhile. Hell even grouping at level 2 is a great idea and i'm sure people would be willing to roll a new alt while they are lfg or in between camp timers.

Look me up when you create, I've got some bronze armor / banded you can have. It isn't much, but pass it along to the next when you out level it, and don't rage quit when your group gets ganked!

What Kergan said. I've given away a TON of meele gear out recently. It's a lot easier to just find a new player and give them a wep that might make them keep playing then try to auction it for 400pp for a month.

Another noobie Iksar Warrior. I started it as my first class here as well. The Trooper Scale Armor quests are definitely doable (shoulders and helm can be done in your mid-late 20s solo [though you do need an invis for the hand in on the shoulders]).

I can make you some banded armor if you need it. PM me what you need (if anything) in-game on Vakaz or Reginod, or PM me on the forums. I usually charge 1pp/ac but will do it at cost for ya since I'm poor now.

Thanks a ton. My each those scaled pieces are super legit but look undo able for a new player since you need all those super expensive gems.
