Solo xp still brutal

I think the difference between 6 man and solo is too high.

Im getting less than 1% per dark blue kill in Gfay.

That means 120+ kills for level 4 to 5.

Im happy about the group bonus changes but i dont know, tweak the solo xp a bit and make it less brutal. The way it is, means that if people log in a dead zone, see that theres nobody and log off instead of wasting their time trying to solo. 10mins later, someone else logs on and see 0 people in Gfay, waits 15mins, logs off to. Chain reaction of logging off.

Its still 50% than on blue but still slow as fuck and boring solo, which blue tempers with a bigger population.

Im not asking for a big change, just something less brutal. Maybe give solo the same bonus you get when theres 2 people grouping.

Its actually 5 dark blues mobs per 1% xp at level 4 if you kill wasp drones, bats, black wolves. Most orcs are too dangerous for me and ive got a regen rubi breastplate and a couple of twink items on.

So something like 300-500 mobs to get from level 4 to level 5.

At level 4 you need to be killing mobs higher than level 1, that's your problem. Kill level 3-4 mobs, watch your exp bar actually move.

Fair enough in regards to other non-twinked people having a harder time. You still should be able to take yellows if you are twinked at all. My same statement applies, if you gave yourself a rubi bp without a weapon, you did something horribly wrong.

Those first couple of levels are slower, just how it goes. Definitely don't just grind level 1 wasps for hours and expect to level though as someone already mentioned. Pull a yellow, kill it or die. Train the reds to orc lift to get better spawns. Do something to break orc hill so you can reliably single pull and expect lower pops.

CB orcs are mostly single pulls around ent, and you get bonus for it being a "dungeon" I'm pretty sure. Always better than the hill.

The problem is you're level 4, with no knowledge of how it was before, or you're a troll.

Before there was a strong global EXP bonus - and it resulted in people preferring to be PL'd, or solo, and then people would just kill others as they don't help them.

Reverting the GRP bonus back would be catastrophic, and the fact that you're hoping others to log on and group with is the proof.

Then base XP would be +90% and there would be no incentive to group until you had three people. Don't assume people would group 'just because' especially when giving a single player more effective PL than +50% already is. A duo would have no benefit of leveling together and if one were a hybrid (until velious) your xp would be worse than solo.

I've been soloing since level 35, im almost 43 now...the solo exp you earn here is fine, but it's way less than if you were in a full group and all members were active. That's okay though.

The main reason I've soloed 35+ is to max my skills. My skills were lacking because I was leveling up so fast via groups, so I decided to step back and focus on my skills. When I hit 45 I will go back to grouping.

I know what you are saying though, but the reason they did this is to encourage people to group. I'm glad they did it this way. If anything you can always grab some leechers to boost your exp, however be careful of adding hybrid classes to leech with you, me and a friend has noticed negative exp gains by adding hybrids to your leeching group.

Im not trying to min max xp, i like grouping. I dont care if its slower a bit than soloing, its more fun.

My proposition goes along with what the rule mechanics want to encourage, grouping. It just makes soloing less tedious at low levels were population is lacking, to make people stick around a bit more until groups can be formed.

This kind of hateful, stupid chewie-like stuff is one of the reason why red was and is doing so badly (noting that it got a great boost with the group bonus xp mechanic). We need fresh new blood, group bonus a great step in the right direction toward that, my tweak would help it even more. The GMs and devs cant change the behavior of angry, bitter, hateful nerds like this guy, which are plentiful on the server. They can however attract new people to the server which could help marginalise these people.

The choice of whether to pvp or group will be back to pvp all players on sight. what you're suggesting is stupid, you just don't know it. The gm's have a good balance of solo to group xp and they're not going to spend the time to script the xp to scale by population.

If i was derubael id go on a hunting spree for a week and forum permaban people who post shit like this outside of rants and flames. Forum makes red look bad.

If they dont get the message carrying over their next account, suspend their in-game account for a month. With a sustained effort like this it would clean a big part of forum behavior for a long time. Only the most dedicated trolls like Cast would keep it up. Temp bans on people once in a while just drains forum mods time and energy and has no lasting effect IMO. A 2 week drive push, with suspensions carried over to in-game IPs would have a lasting effect.

it's dumb because you're ill informed. If they were to change xp rates to be closer, it wouldn't be to raise solo xp, it'd be to decrease group xp. but you already knew that after your two weeks in the server.

I haven't read though all these messages but I see a main point. The exp bonus was made to encourage grouping on red so people can level faster and have a community of people. Smaller then blue of course, but it's still there to encourage grouping, not soloing. You want them to boost solo exp when it was only put in for grouping in the first place. You don't get groups in gfay? Try another zone. The community isn't huge and you post things to get people to reply back with a negetive statement doesn't help your argument or "idea" one bit. There will be no exp bonus for soloing because it wasn't implemented for that reason.

Also, why did you make a post and reply to yourself twice before anyone else even posted? It seems like your only here to stir up the pot, And that my friend will not get you far. You want more exp bonus, try out this idea. Go to another zone and look for more people instead if posting this crap. Lower lvls go slow because it wouldn't make sense for a new player to go from 1-20 solo and not have enough cash to buy even 1 of their spells. Key word SOLO. Learn to play the game for what it is, and stop trying to change things that are not broken.

this happens on a low pop server, it's the reason we have an xp bonus in the first place. Grind the xp or quit. Plenty of people before you didn't have a problem with no one to group with all the time. We should enable mercenaries and pok books because you can't find a group sometimes.

Its not about me, i can log on my main where the pop is, like you can, which is probably why you lack vision on why this is important, because it doesnt affect you personally.

GMs and devs should take note though, its important if we are going to bring the population up some more.

solo xp has +50% modifier compared to blue. this is a pretty good gain. that means you level faster when you are soloing here compared to soloing on blue or in a classic live environment. I'm sorry no one was around to play with you at 11:30 on a sunday. Maybe people weren't playing R99, or they solo'd into the next leveling zone in the time you decided to fap to your upcoming next post that would prove everyone wrong.

Look at it this way (i know you won't), no one is starting on this server without realizing at least one of the following:
1) it is a lower population
2) they will be playing EVERQUEST the endless timesink we all cherish and for some reason still play. this isn't a 'kill four boars, get level 10' it's spend a couple hours and hope to make progress before you die a couple times and lose an entire night's worth of time.
3) oh hey I get +50% xp for soloing? wow that's a nice bonus that is not at all classic!

Subjective speculation is not News. How do you know I didn't solo my entire blue career then came to red and enjoyed soloing with 50% more exp? Do you realize how it may be more convenient to solo for an semi-afk hour than find a group? I've run into plenty of people on red who have all said as much. If they can't find a group, they solo until other people come online. Red is excellent for that.

We don't have that long of a grind here on red, due to ALL XP starting out at minimum 50% more than anywhere else. I get it, you don't think this is enough, but really it is quite fantastic.

From what I've noticed observed, you have made your forum account April 2014.
