Played Red99 for the first time this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Group exp is great and I was able to get 20 without much effort. However, My iksar necro is essentially completely naked, wearing only the starter robe and using the starter dagger.
Fob and Kurns have not been generous in cloth armor or anything sellable for plat/to buy spells and or gear.
At one point I remember there being an offer to make jewelry for new players, is this still going on?
Also, any reccomendation regarding primary red99 grouping locations would be appreciated. Are unrest/mm/hhk still the go to spot or due to twink pks, are more out of the way locations favored?
Thanks for any help.

i would say at least to try and stay away from unrest. MM can be fun but again just be wary of people attacking you while you have like 3 mobs. Thats when the wimp pkers show up.
Edit>>> HHK seems to be a good spot. Every once in a while you get an influx of PVP action, but much less then unrest and MM. As for low teens grouping try the karana's. Lots of open space, not normally overcamped. I dont traverse Kunark much so i cant help with spots there.

I had good luck in Unrest. Your mileage may vary as you will get chased out at times by MrBigs(22), Gotpants(26), and one or two others. Usually found nice helpful people to group with though. Also had good luck in MM but that was only 1 session so can't speak to availability of groups or what pvp is like there.

Resist gear aside, you can go to 50+ on a necro almost naked.
If you need any starter jewelry made I'm happy to do it at cost (silver/gold bars etc + gem... bring em to me or give me the plat to go get them and I'll hit combine), that's if you can make it to the Freeport bank. You can bank from around the wall as long as you can invis there, and invis back out.... no roaming guards etc :p

Yeah lack of gearing one is the main reasons I went necro. Thanks for the offer, I look you up when I have some plat to spare for mats.

You should be able to make some decentish cash at the WW giants.
I've been giving out tons of newbie gear rotting in my bank to new players I see.. I encourage others to do the same :)

Thanks ill check that out. It's a hassle essentially be required to stay close to cab for spells. I joined a group in EK doing crag spiders but after a couple lvls I was 20, group was disbanding and I needed to get back to Cab.
Needless to say the lack of porters and run distance from DL is a large incentive to stay in kunark, at least until lvling slows down more.

Good thing you made a necro!
Naked Necro's Need Nothing!
Don't worry. The economy on this server is fucked you can buy plenty of items for pretty cheap as long as you find someone selling them. Farm the guards in misty thicket once you get a little higher into your 20's and you can make tons of cash.

Never leave unless you carry your important spells with you/plus research? - Or have friends who can pick them up. Porters are leveling up! But yes, PITA.

casters don't need any gear, and you can easily earn money and buy it with a small amount of effort.
Thanks for all the brilliant insight , ill go re-roll... Oh wait I'm already playing a necro for exactly that reason and asking for potential spots near Cab to earn some money but please continue to state the obvious.

Money really won't do much in terms of getting you gear unless you go the JC route and buy some 55hp rings. All the people giving away items right now are doing so because no one buys them so you really so have to go and get them yourself. That or you'll get them free I guess.
At 24 or so (provided you get your pet) is good for ww giant fort. Lots of good vendor trash there with the possibility of a forest loop. You can do Sogblog(sp?) in swamp of no hope around that level too. I've never done him but wiki has him at 25.
Most of Kunark is on roughly the same loot table in that there are zone wide drops + cheap vendor trash. There are no major cash camps like in the old world (sea furies, hill giants etc...). Head out there and see what you can find. Be on the lookout for rare pages for other classes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've never really done the low end of kunark so it's a new experience for me.

It's a very slow and steady income flow unless you're going for items.
I would suggest doing cash camps to get you a few spell levels worth so you can go xp elsewhere. I did mammoths in ever frost from 26-32 and made a it 2k. Have been able to buy all my spells since with most item upgrades given to newbs or friends.
You could probably do misty thicket guards for serious cash after. Establish yourself on the mainland by maybe doing ground drops and transferring the money to a convenient level 1. Get enough for spellls and then do items to gear yourself out in. As mentioned above, you really don't need much as a caster.
