Seems a LNS refresher is needed for our pals in Azrael

Please review and commit to memory so that next time you call LNS you won't be faced with a possible ban.

A player is 'Looting and Scooting' (LnSing) when he has died to an opponent and opts to call Loot and Scoot. You must make your intentions clear that you are loot and scooting by communicating with the other people in the zone(s) you move through, as well as with the person who killed you, or your LnS claim will not be valid, and you can be killed. You may call Loot and Scoot in any zone after respawning from death so long as you head straight for your corpse. If you need to move across multiple zones in order to Loot and Scoot, you must call LnS as you move through each zone. If a new player enters the zone, you must call Loot and Scoot so they are aware of your intentions. You may not attack or be attacked while Loot and Scooting. After retrieving your corpse, you are allowed a short amount of time to med enough mana to safely get out of the zone (ie, enough for a couple casts of invisibility, FD, or a port spell), memorize those spells, and then must leave the zone immediately for 1 hour. This timer will start after the last person has exited the zone. If multiple players died in PvP and all choose to LnS, they may help each other do so (IE, res each other, drag corpses, port, etc) unless they have already opted out of LnS by fighting after death. After you have left the zone, you are considered to have finished Loot and Scooting, and may again be attacked.

If you are killed and opt to fight instead of calling Loot and Scoot, you forfeit any later opportunities to invoke LnS. If you log out you may return in 1 hour and call Loot and Scoot.

In large scale PvP (7 or more players on one side), LnS must be called by a force as a whole. Individuals may not invoke Loot and Scoot. LnS may be called by the force at any time, this option may never be forfeited. If a fight took place across multiple zones, the force is considered to have finished LnS'ing once all of their players have left the zones affected. All other LnS rules still apply.

I think we made some moves towards putting in special rules for VP last night, as it should be. No reason you should be able to "LNS" by camping out your raid force post rez for an hour. That zone sucks to die in, losing in PVP should be painful.

That being said, I don't think anyone deliberately broke any rules there last night personally. Even the training (whichever side it came from) wasn't done to purposely train the other side. It was a combination of one side trying to get to the other while mobs were being trained away/pathing back from a PVE engagement.

But still, the whole "scoot" thing needs to be redefined a bit specifically for VP.

wait, azrael skirting the rules by picking apart rules that are clear as day but not worded properly enough to cover any kind of backdoor rule lawyering?

This is the kinda shit that needs to be addressed, the rules are quite clear. stop manipulating them to fit your situation....

Being able to camp out for LNS is retarded. Imagine fighting in the Seb Crypt, losing, calling LNS and then camping out in the crypt on top of the group for an hour only to log back inside and fight them again. Makes zero sense.

I agree. I think when you call LNS you need to have all corpses and characters involved out of the zone before the 1 hour timer starts. It's not easy to do in VP sometimes, but if it takes you 3 hours to CR/rez out/zone out whatever then it'll be 4 hours until you can zone back in.

I would also add that if guild LNS is called, any members of that guild/force logging in who were not involved in the engagement during the lockout period are still subjected to the guild LNS, and it starts the lockout timer over. Basically, if you lose get your entire guild the F out of the zone.

Or if you want to simplify this entire process just make it so when guild LNS is called you need to leave the zone until a raid mob is engaged and defeated, or if their is a wipe on the PVE target the zone opens back up immediately.

Holy shit 3hour cr? Sounds like a camp and petition one week later IMO.

Shouldn't take you 3 hours, just using that as an example.

LNS should work more the way Nihilum does it. You grab corpses, log out...and don't return for a full week until the next PvP Saturday comes around.

Tune and I had a very fruitful conversation with Sirken to advance and facilitate LNS in general, specially in VP. Sirken was good enough to spare us some of his time as a mediator to make that happen.

Both parties clarified eachother's intentions and perspectives to one another and came to an understanding that noone was trying to carry out any foul play. Colgate and Lithiuum were camped out there way prior to the PVP that lead to LNS being requested. The corpses were there because we were using them earlier for transportation through rezz boxes in VP.

Camping out ontop of your enemy's full force w/ 0 buffs and most of your guild LNS'd not even in the zone is not even tactically viable. If anything it only complicated them linking up with us for our final push. Sickpuppy and Colgate had to run for their lives to link up with us, Lithiuum didn't even make it.

Intentionally causing experience-loss to other players in the PvP environment is illegal in all cases and may result in disciplinary action when witnessed by a P99CSR. This includes things such as intentionally training NPCs.
