So numbers on server have been lookin great, 220 yesterday.
Would be good if we could set up some sort of newb defense crew, because unlike rallos seems balance is a bit to the griefy side of things, so new blood can have some breathing space and settle a bit on server.
Im not saying attacking new people is bad in theory, just that with low numbers each people we lose counts. As we hit 250 and 300 pop its an incentive for other people to check out the server. Its in the interest of everyone beside those marginal people like chewie to see a growing pop.
Its up to us to make sure theres a balance to people like mrbigs in unrest and in general, and itll make for some fun pvp.

I'm one of those newbs in unrest that was run over by twinks for a couple of hours. I could have logged but we kept going because we're on red and it is to be expected. Having 'good' twinks fighting with us would be great fun. My groups always tried to fight them, and chase them out as best we could until they got bored. A solo / small group would be screwed though.
tbh the only problem was when one twink realized they couldn't break our heals, they brought in a friend, then a second twink logged in, then an OOR healer showed up because we killed their healer in our pvp range. That was just a bit funny to see so much effort just to stop a couple first character newbies from xping.
Also guys being ganked by an epic geared rogue when I am wearing less than 100p of gear is hilariously elite pvp.

It's common knowledge an epic rogue with fungi and cof lives in unrest to grief people. If you go there you're asking to get shit on. Literally 8 different places to level at that range without running into twinks.

I got a double kill in unrest yesterday on Anthony. Killed Muppets and Wally at the same time.. Wally took it pretty well so I ported and buffed him but muppets raged pretty hard. You need to get used to being PKed on this server while you are low instead of putting in a bunch of work while avoiding pvp and when you finally do get killed you don't even know what to do with yourself and end up quitting.
Weed out the weak. PvP is NOT grief.

We need more groups of people coming over and leveling like this. A normal twink will get smoked by a group of 6 and a super twink will at least have a good fight. The Group XP Bonus in currently is exactly the promoter of this so you dont see a newb trying to solo to 60, you see a GROUP of newbs woopin ass on twinks!

I'm about as much of a newb as possible. Started playing in February on blue, made it to 30, then tried red starting a couple weeks ago. Never played EQ before. Red has been way more fun.
I just went 14-31 in Unrest. Why? It was the best option for me starting with nothing as I was familiar with it, good xp, good coin, gear upgrades. All of those things in one place limited travel time and just allowed me to play. I don't know where else I would have gone.
That said the twink PK'rs were somewhat frustrating at first but after just sticking with it, it wasn't really that bad. Multiple times with full groups we were able to at least chase them off. I don't know that we ever killed one. But it was fun trying and good practice.
I mean it sucks getting coined when you are new and can't even keep up on spell costs but it seemed like every time I was the worst off someone would randomly throw some coin or gems to help out. I met a number of really cool, helpful people. Well worth the small amount of grief I saw.
Anyway. I wouldn't avoid the zone. But make sure you go in with the right mindset. Band up and fight back and if that doesn't work and the odds are too stacked against you leave or play another character or do something else for a while. Just enjoy the game and don't get tunnel vision as to allow others to take away your enjoyment. There are always options.

You can quote anything i said on nihilum and ill stand by it.
First day in Nihilum and i got handed pox and spirit of the howler. You can look up my post history and find the post where i say that nihi (back in 2012) handed me a dracolich 2h on day1 of me joining their guild. Every person i met has the same story about Azrael using "down belows" as a way to get pixels for the inner core. For all the shit talk about nihi being pixel whores, ive never experienced such pixel whoring in any MMO than what i experienced in Azrael.
Ive got more shit done in 7 days of nihi and red dawn than i got out of 6 months of Azrael. For example, i had my epic 3 days after joining red dawn. When i was in Azrael, we were doing Andis's alt epic before helping other toons with their mains. When there was a heavy grind, Lite had us wait for PVP for hours on end while there was an xp bonus in effect that should have been taken advantage of (it only lasted a couple of days). 2 days in a row. Because Lite and the "higher ups" were already 60. Thats Lite's general grand leadership, team player vision you can expect and thats why Az is not going anywhere soon.
Anyhow im not getting into this shit fest. See you on the battlefield, ive chosen my side.

Its not about pixels, its about your fair share of the work you put in. Its about being team players, not greedy pixel junkies like Andis and Lite. Things might have changed a bit since I was in Azrael, since they got ripped a new asshole about this on forums a couple of times, and the "loot council" must know their reputation by now. In a self-serving way, this was (is?) a problem to be dealt with if they werent gonna leak players badly. But im guessing Lite's leadership is just as bad as it always was.

Wasn't complaining. Just pointing out he was on the opposing side of the exact situation he found himself in, in Unrest.
Turned into a 2 hour fight that was annoying at the time but it was still fun trying to figure out how to take the bard down with an oor healer always by his side and not many resources on our end.

I was the sole buffing shaman for parts of saturdays big raid day, and i did well. I dont really like playing shaman in raids but i kinda got used to it. No dps, just keep the buffs memed and stay on the ball on buffs, for the team.
I was guilded already, im not in Nizzars mind but it felt like here you go, you stayed with us throughout the day, the only shaman for a while, heres your just due.
The fact that you claim i didnt put in work shows your bias, as saturday was a big day with multiple big pvp fights, PVE targets. Your mind is already made up as to whats going on here, so no point in carrying on this conversation.
Also, you realize you come shitting in a thread where im saying we should defend noobs in rags against twinks they basically have no chance against, something i thought youd view favorably.

Some unguilded cleric was sitting in KC, we decided to leave him alone. He happened to tag along to ragefire and we let him loot the heart. Grats on epic before he even apped. Same guy likely was griefed in Unrest or MM by you-know-who. To each their own I guess.

This is true. I was making the move from Unrest down to check out MM. When I got there he asked for help. Looked like you guys had the numbers so I jumped in. In my past experiences with him (grouped once and fought against thrice) he didn't seem to grief just PvP so I assumed this was just some PvP.
Anyway, you guys grouped up, killed me, and chased them out of the zone. You won the day as it should be done. If they were griefing you, my apologies for aiding in it.
I'm new to the community and EQ in general so it can be hard to know when and with whom to jump into things with but at the end of the day you have to jump. I would have jumped in with you if you'd been the one asking for help on the short side of numbers.
