I saw that someone made a thread earlier, but people wanted specifics when looking for class advice. I want to try out Red99, but it appears the classes I would be interested in are not that great (Necro/Enc), so give me some advice.
I am thinking either Shaman or a Bard. I will need to solo 75% of the time, so that is a huge factor for me. I would also be interested in a Wizard, but it is not my first choice. Please give me some pros and cons of each one.
I will be starting with nothing, so that is a big factor also.

Then go bard.
Or shaman.
Or warrior.
Or whatever.
Sounds like you've read the thread. Not sure how you can walk away from that and not have an idea of what to play but fwiw, you won't see pvp all the time AND you're going to be on a server with players who are very entrenched and established.
You're better off playing what you want to play and what will suit your tastes, style or availability then trying to eke out the next-level year 3000 pvp strategy.
Besides, how people describe theoretical situations is just that, theoretical. You ever casted insipid weakness (-55 STR debuff) on an overweight caster then stripped his sow? Ever caught a character off guard 2 minutes before their buffs wear off and you drag it out so everything poofs? Stuff is going to happen that changes everything.
Preparation, repetition and lastly luck are going to carry you through. You'll learn various strats along the way.

every class is good and plays an important role in group+ pvp
play what you want to play while considering that melee will be more difficult without gear

Enchanter is of course highly sought in pve. Devastating in PvP if played well
Hit me up on ksah about any necro or chanter questions
