View Full Version : Game Mechanics: Pet aggro in plane of sky(possibly general)

Pet aggro is messed up, Bosses will aggro on pet even if theres 10 poeple around them.
Example: Keeper of sky aggroing on necro pet/magi pet, even if theres 10-15 player in melee range.
Pets generate way too much aggro right now in plane of sky and possibly all other zones.

As a tank, I can say that if I get in melee range, it stops attacking any pet. Also played a mage recently, and I did not notice him on my pet at all unless there were no melee in range.

Yeah this has been the case for a while now and it's happening everywhere.
Any time your in a group and the puller heads back to camp with a mob in tow, said mob will make a b-line to the nearest pet first chance it gets. 100% reproducible.

He is stating that when 10-15 people are MELEEing the mob, the pet still has agro and getting hit

It does happen even without the pet or someone rooting.
I have had the pet tank while I melee a few weeks ago with the /pet attack distance changes patch. That is when it started. Yes the part where the mob will attack the pet when a mob is pulled too. That always happens.
Let say a buddy is fighting a mob. If you stand in it's face. The mob will not attack you. If you make a pet and stand in the mobs face it will attack you. Just another odd side effect of that patch. But if your pet is guarding far away and you stand in the mobs face it won't attack. Pets have some very odd aggro lately.
If there are a bunch of earth pets on the raid though , maybe one of them did land a root. Or someone in the raid casted root.

Happens a lot on island 4. Large NPCs with small hit boxes.

dude i assure you most of these mobs are not rootable.. pets might have a higher level root, but as far as im aware, 90% of the mobs in Plane of Sky are Immune to run speed changes.

doesnt change the fact you dont know what your talking about ;)
first of all, earth pets dont care if things are immune to movements (IF it is coded like live) i rooted mobs in uqua that were "immune to run speed changes" with my earth pet ... and then again ... tell one of your guild mages to summon an earth pet in the plane of sky and see what it does ...
The way it has ALWAYS worked on live for necromancer is, as soon as someone steps into melee range of an NPC they draw aggro from a pet no matter what. This is how it works now.

This happens with FD pulls, and is fixed next patch.
