**Please note, high level red players, that if we catch one of you messing with this event or breaking a rule, we will permanently ban your account with no hope for appeal. Just. Don't. Do it.**
To begin our Red week, we are starting off with a level 1 race in Antonica!
This event will begin on the Red Server at 830 PM EST/530 PM PST tonight, April 29th, at the East Commonland/Freeport Zone line in East Commonlands. The starting line will be where the sand ends and the grass begins. The race will be from this line in EC to the gates of Qeynos. If you choose an evil class/deity combo that is KoS to qeynos, you will have 'crossed the finish line' when one of the gate guards kills you (any other NPC in Qeynos that kills you will not be considered crossing the finish line).
The only requirement to enter is a naked (except for starting weapon) level 1 human of any class. This character must have his home city set to Freeport. Everyone is allowed to participate. Everyone who participates will win a piece of gear. Anyone who finishes the race will receive an even better prize. The winner will receive the rewards given to the finishers and the participants, as well as something extra. These will all be low to mid-level items to help you get started on the server, and we will be giving the items to the character of your choice (IE, if you already have a level 10 character on red and participate in the event, we will give your reward to your main.)
The only rules for this event are no receiving outside help from other players who are not participating (IE, no buffs, ports, sow's, clearing or training mobs away from other players, etc). You must start the race with only your starting gear. You may not acquire weapons/equipment/items from another player (but looting things off a mob you kill during the race is acceptable). You must start at level 1. You may not use any boats.
Other than that, everything else is allowed. You can kill other players, level up, or goof off along the way. As stated above, everyone who participates will win something to help them get started on the server. People who finish the race are guaranteed a beneficial magic item, this item will be particularly good for people new to the server to help them on their journey to PvP greatness.
