View Full Version : Global OOC necessary

It really is though, on a server with such a low population people need to be able to find groups, ask for ports and all of that good stuff.

I get that some people are turned off by what people say sometimes but honestly it's great.

I'm still scratching my head on this one. They seem so uninformed, and yet they are in charge.

Bring back global OOC. Put it in level brackets if you're worried about the high lvl rivalries intimidating new players on the server. It just makes sense with the exp bonus being group oriented.

Should at least be some OPTION to OPT into global ooc (if this isn't an option already?).

Thanks.

OK not trying to bash the server at all by any means but as Chewie so kindly pointed there were less people at all times actually playing than were showing up at the home screen. Also, even if the pop is at 200 at all times this is still a lot lower than it was in the glorious beginning of the server that a lot of us really miss.. Some of the changes I think are really beneficial to the server but having made a fresh character from scratch and leveling up a little bit I realized that not having global OOC could be a little bit of a burden down the road. Also, having logged on a level 51 guildless melee toon in feerott I realized there was little I could do to get around to leveling areas so I promptly logged off. After logging into my 60 druid, I of course couldn't see anyone's requests for ports or whatnot and obviously couldn't help in those regards and turning off /anon for a lot of people is not an option. Having global ooc would enable such kind saints as linuxcaller and neefin to port people upon request. /ignore is always an option--just like on the forums!

JP's idea seems good to me-- 1-50 and then 50-60 would be great.

its pretty absurdly obvious the pop went up because of the changes and nothing to do with global ooc. it is so pathetically obvious the server needs global ooc. either this is the staff trying to kill the server or an unbelievable oversight

Unpopular opinion here but I think exp is too fast at the lower levels now (1-40 at least).

Went to sleep last night (level 35) and now some of my friends who were 32 and 33 are now 45+.

yeah, and that has nothing to do with the 290% bonus xp.

you gave us global ooc, but no incentive to use it for anything other then griefing.

global ooc will be great combined with the group bonus xp.

the box feels empty and no one will sit in cities and LFG they will try to solo in dungeons and while looking for groups

24 hours in to the changes and the tears are already streaming. Cry for weeks about exp. Cry about losing status in server select. Cry about population. Then changes go in, and cry about the changes. Get the fuck off the box

I can't tell you how many fresh blue recruits I lost while doing RD due to the toxicity of global ooc. It's removal was a needed and welcome change.

Thank you for help last night Aussie. Global ooc is nice because even with low population, it gives me a sense of population. From my brief red experience. Will be on again tonight. Also going to try and pull some guys still playing on Zek Live.

I wont miss ooc. Some of it really is cringey. But the server WILL feel kind of empty without it.

Give it a few weeks to see, at least.

I think that's a fair statement.

Armchair quarterbacking in full effect already, so many lols.

I wish someone would put up a pvp server with all of these vague rulesets everyone seems to cry for / cry against. What? You had one called VZTZ XX.XX?? How'd that work out?

Oh.. right. :o

Regardless of where you are in the world, you will usually have someone to talk to.

Originally, we were going to just have city-ooc and not link zones at all - but this was an alternative that seemed to be between the two extremes.

Bottom line? We were tired of global-ooc:

I can't tell you how many fresh blue recruits I lost while doing RD due to the toxicity of global ooc. It's removal was a needed and welcome change.

Can't tell you how many times the staff has heard this echo'd from players leaving the server.

Give this new system some time to see how it works. There will be a lot more people on the box this next week - it will feel far less empty than you think! We haven't even started advertising on Blue yet ;)
