Words of Darkness Quest

I'm trying to do that quest on my necro, I noticed a high level epic NPC next to Cyanelle, which I need to kill, named Eldreth, who is also kos to my necro and obviously whooped my ass when I tried to take Cyanelle out.

What are the odds of not finding this guy up for my quest kill?

Probably pretty slim. Either get a goodie to split for you. Or get creative in your splitting technique. Send your pet at the higher level, tag lower level. Then quick root her, and FD. Wait for the higher level to walk back and reset.

Snare should keep lower level from walking back until it wears off. I forget what level snare this starts working at.

Unless this was recently patched, mobs still return to their spawns even if snared.

Druids do it all the time with Lynuga for farming midnight mallets. Snare works, its just a matter of what level snare is required for them to stop pathing home.

Testing now:

Clinging - Mob walked back, snared.
Engulfing - Mob walked back, snared.
Dooming - Mob did not walk back.
Clinging - Mob did not walk back.

So, level 29.
