I was surprised by this game. It's pretty good. If you like MTG then I recommend checking this out. MTG has gotten a little out of hand with the sheer amount of different abilities available. It's nice to see it go back to the basics.

Scrolls (https://scrolls.com/) is by far my favorite digital TCG, but I do play Hearthstone occasionally.

Hearthstone is kind of a shitty game. The mechanics weren't immediately engaging (it really does play like babby's first TCG with training wheels), and updates are way too far apart. The game has literally not changed in about half a year, and considering it never had much depth to begin with, it gets real boring playing against the same deck over and over again for months.

Also the new "expansion" has really made me dislike the game even more... they're already introducing DLC into a free to play game. You have to individually buy each "adventure" where you get the new cards (which looks like they're introducing power creep already, btw).

Doesn't appear to be a draft/sealed mode in Scrolls. Is this the case? If so, that's pretty bad as it's essentially the only mode I like to play in CTG's.

Have been playing Hearthstone a lot lately, the new iPad app is nice. My favorite classes to play are Mage, Druid, and Priest.

I haven't dropped a dime on any cards and somehow have 5 legendarys in my deck. Good luck is good, I guess.

I met one of these today on my warrior. Rank 21 and threw down 3 legendaries and a bunch of rares. It was going good but I got overwhelmed. I won't spend any money on boosters but when I get better I'll buy some arena passes.

I sucked on my free arena and only got 1 win. I got some gold and a booster pack. I watched a vid on youtube and some dude won 6 times. He got a booster and like 140ish gold. So he basically got a free booster out of it.

Yeah 6 wins is my record, I'm sitting on about 900 points/currency/etc at the moment from the daily quests, but too chicken shit to spend them in case I screw up :D

Make sure everyone on the same subnet.
Have 2 of the players play 3 games.
Make sure the 3rd person stays logged into Hearthstone, and doesn't disconnect.
Those two players will receive card backs.
Have the 3rd person, and one of the others play 3 games, making sure the extra person doesn't disconnect. The final person will also receive the card back.

Naez had his alt account logged in upstairs while we played on our main accounts in another room. Should have worked, no? He did not disconnect (from being idle) on his upstairs account.

It's fucking hard trying to get a good themed deck going... I don't know how I managed 6 wins during the beta.

I've tried putting murloc decks together twice and failed based on options.

Every deck I meet has some good synergy, cards working well with other cards... but its so tricky trying to get a feel for that in the draft.

Best arena win today was 3 wins, terribad, but I popped 2 legendaries in my card pack after a 0 win failed warrior deck which was either very lucky or there's some pity code applied lol.

You're picking the wrong cards and probably playing them incorrectly as well. Look up tier lists and pick accordingly and you'll do much better. Try watching some streams of top tier arena players and copy & paste.

I try and get some cards I know that'll work together, but sometimes you don't see part 2-3 of a chain of cards til later...and who knows if you'll actually get them.

I try and get a good even spread for 1-4 cards and slow down on the 5+ ones. What do other people do?

I know for MTG you aim for a bell shaped curve a bit more.

My best arena so far has been 9 wins, with a paladin deck. Since you don't know what your deck will be totally comprised of as you choose the cards.. makes it difficult. You need to make each trade (of card for card, or minion for minion) really count. Depending on the class, I'd say good advice is to keep cards in your hand. Just because you can play it, doesn't mean you should. Lure your opponent into playing their cards, then responding. I think that's the best advice I can give. And that advice doesn't work if you're trying a zerg deck, because you do want to play your cards asap.


I wanted to share my most recent deck idea. Objectively it is to burn cards in opponents hand, or from the board into their hand, and burn those. Really just wanted to see if it would work, and so far its got about an 80% win rate. Not sure how! Here goes

Keep board control until you can start combos. If you have a murloc tidecaller, play it early in tandum with backstabs, evicerates and your melee weapon. If they get some crazy high cost creature you can't deal with, sap it. On turn 3, if you have King Mukla, hook them up with 2 bananas. Usually worst case scenario, they buff a creature just enough to be able to kill Mukla.

Once you get to around turn 4 or 5, there are two routes to go. If they have a lot of cards in their hand already, and you have coldlight oracle, fill their hand up. Shadow stepping the oracle makes it 1 mana to replay, and is great if you can do it in conjunction with questing adventurer and youthful brewmaster. Even replaying the 2/1 charge murloc can get crazy if you do it continuously.

If opponent has a full board, vanish them all back. If you have Mukla, and oracles, this is where they start losing cards. Over time, they've probably played the lower ones they could, and are often forced to play 1-2 high mana cost cards a turn. Keep filling up their hand.

I have no idea why it works as well as it does, but I thought I'd share it here. It's my first real deck combo I haven't seen done elsewhere.

Another SW CCG person here. I used to play the hell out of it, still have all my cards. They aren't worth anything from what I could tell the last time I looked. Even Black Border Vader's! Gasp!

I play a bit. Pretty good game to play while doing other things. Only complaint is the simplicity of the game compared to other games.

OK that's a nope...how is it that Blizzard won't let people play a card game if they're not in the same region? I understand for LoL with ping etc but not Hearthstone :/

Entered the arena earlier as a priest. Played 7 games (won 4)... and encountered 4 mages (beat 1, lost to 2).

Is the current arena meta to always play the mage if its offered? Or was I just stupidly unlucky? :p

Cannot see the picture at work, but I bit finally the other night and bought just 7 packs. Seemed worth it as I pulled a couple legendaries, lots of rare's a couple epics and a couple golds. That is a TON from 7 packs with just 5 cards a pack if you ask me...

Still cannot make half of the decks I want to try, but don't want to buy more cards...

I'd do it if I had some decent priest cards, but I don't and refuse to RMT to Blizzard. I enjoy slapping good decks with my average warlock deck :p
