Question, about how much plat should I be expecting to pull in once I start up a taxi service?

Would like to turn some of the nothing that I'm wearing into something.

If you hang around high-demand places like Overthere to port people, you can make something like 500pp+ an hour on average (sometimes more, sometimes less). It will vary wildly based on demand, competition, and your ability to actually port them (you don't get all your port spells at once). Generally speaking people pay about 20-30pp on average for a port, but again, it varies wildly. Big places to do it are EC (obviously), OT, and KC (for evacs). A popular request is to port to Dreadlands, run to KC, and evac to EJ.

There are definitely better ways to make money once you get to 50+, but at lower levels it's among the best ways to make money.

No rule of thumb, it varies. I remember porting a guy late to a raid who gave me a mask of wurm which I sold for 2k at the time just because I picked him up promptly after his tell.
