I have fond memories of playing Everquest with my family like getting a whole bunch of new gear, dying, and loosing it all. Good times. But I just started after a 10 year break or so. Re-learning everything.

Currently a level 3 monk named Aldrich. And already i have noticed how people here are so helpful! Looking for groups because I cant seem to level up to 4... bleh

Planning on getting my family hooked on this game again, so 2 more players incoming aswell!!

Welcome to P99! There's lots of people in the low levels on the server but most don't start grouping until 10+. Use those first 8-10 levels to re-familiarize yourself with the game.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the server rules in the Project 1999 FAQ here (http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1002). That's great that you want to get your family into the game as well! The more the merrier. Make sure to read the bolded section 'Can I play with my roommate/family member? It says there is only one account per IP allowed' on the FAQ I linked or this link here (http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142220). If you plan on playing together in the same house there are certain procedures that have to be followed to allow this to happen.

Welcome back to Norrath! You're back in our world now...

Thank you Nikon for the tip!

Doing some exploring... Any places a low level should visit And could I venture to other cities or would I get killed? I am currently in the East Commonlands.

East Commonlands is a great place to be as a new player. Lots of low level people hang out there, you can get orc groups, you can collect and sell spiderling silk and HQ pelts/hides, and the tunnel almost always has high level players willing to give out buffs to lowbies. Look for people buffing newbies in /ooc and don't be afraid to ask for a buff or two at the entrance, just remember to be polite. From there you can move on to Befallen, North Ro, and Oasis.

make sure you apply for your IP exemption ahead of time if you will need it. not sure, but it has said that this process can take weeks.
