You mean like promising huge changes that are incoming soon, seven weeks ago, then claiming that the group exp bonus just needs to be finalized by Alecta five weeks ago? Changes that a newbie coder could make in 15 minutes? ok.

Patches fall between 6 weeks and 3 months on the server, pretty easy to look at the history of "patch notes" threads to see this trend.

The good news is we're halfway through the wait for the big changes!

This refers to changes in games that are meaningful and include content. BIG CHANGES on this server is an exp bonus, level limit on pvp changed to 4, etc. It is literally 5 minutes of work. There is absolutely 0 content being created in these BIG CHANGES.

I've thought about it alot and I can't figure out the reasoning behind sitting on the announcement for this long. Only thing I can figure is that there isn't really any big changes coming and GMs are covering for something trying to keep everyone around as long as possible.

I was just giving examples of changes that might be coming. I really have no idea what they are even talking about and am personally happy with the server as is other than exp rate. The point is there is absolutely no reason they wouldn't be able to deliver on these ideas since it isn't going to be content based.

Prolly going to just regulate ooc with rules implemented and get the new guides to report on ooc rule breaking. Ooc needs to be in place for a low pop server and especially with velious and more zones out.

1) A progressive exp bonus for being in a group that equals the old exp bonus in a full group.

2) +/- 4 level range

3) global ooc will be broadcast only in cities

4) more gm events catering to lowbie crowd

5) potentially blue copies or boxing (don't put too much into this sounded like a long shot)

6) teams is basically on complete hold until red recovers pop

7) velious quite a bit away still (good for our guild as we really need a ton more 60s and experience going into velious)

No timeline, but supposedly the exp change was supposed to go live today but alecta had a fuck up, so one would think it would be very soon, but red99 etc

Group exp bonus would need to be coded in. Coders are a limited resource and are working on many different things. Possible blessing required by upper management required too.

If you want an easy mode action rpg with real pretty graphics then go to ESO. Only neat thing they did was have open world chests that anyone could run by and loot. Neat idea on paper but in reality ESOs version of neckbeards just sat at them for hours on end lol. Beta was fun for about an hour.

Yeah Im still curious to see how the pvp plays out. They are only going to allow PVP in Cyrodil the continent that Oblivion was based in. Supposedly its open world pvp as well as quests and shit and you'll be able to level up there if your into pvp. Dunno tho, I bet it'll be a wasteland of pvp action once every couple hours at best.

problem with even the best pvp games... quake 3 is like this it was #1 and now it's just a shadow of its former self =/ so even if this is good for pvp... if it never gets an update it will die in months

I'm going to hold off on purchasing til the summer when it supposedly releases for console. I've played Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim all on console so it just feels weird being in that world on a PC.

Where I think they are going wrong is having separate servers for PC, Xbox, and PS4. If their "mega server" is so badass then why not go ahead and develop it to support the consoles as well as the PC.

only one game pulled this off decently. can be really hard. depends on the game mechanics a lot

I love how they handled these changes.

- Remove the thing that was slowly increasing the server population, and promise that big changes are coming.

- Continue to tell people for weeks that the big things are VERY SOON.

- A few months pass and no changes happen, or are even announced.

- Server Closed. (This is what I think is happening. Its a pretty BIG THING in my opinion.)

i think a wipe would be ok, considering that one post about how early exploits and rmt TOTALLY FUCKED the economy. either that or purple finally(if its done right, otherwise can be failure).

there are some dedicated lifers who only play EQ. lots of people from other EQ servers have moved here after their home was shut down (MAC server, etc). if p99 shuts down, its only a matter of time before another emu is set up. its just simple supply and demand: if you shut down the supply, that does not remove the demand. not to mention that Rogean promised that the server will always be here.. so that would void the server's integrity and even if they started back up, im sure the population would be seriously crippled.

tho i must say, Zade leaving seems like a really bad omen.

They are promising big changes to promote server growth and yet there has been no indication they are actually doing anything.
