Actual footage taken by me while on my journey to Mordor.

Spotted the worm sleeping on a rock. He offered no onions so I left him behind. RIP Gyno. (at the end of video)

we got about half way up but after an hour and a half of hiking my kid got tired so we headed back down. i plan to go back sometime next month to reach the peak. as you can see from the first pic, the trail wasnt a smooth ride up. i had to help my kid up some of the path because it was too damn high for him to climb up (or too steep.) my dog had no problems tho.

Is this in NZ? If so what part?

I've been wanting to do NZ for a while, but convincing my wife will be hard cos she loves the tropics... that being said, I still have a tan from the kayaking I did back in January... fek...

ahhh ok, just saw the LOTR reference, so I assumed you went on one of those NZ LOTR tours... My mate did one of the more intense tours, where they take you hiking through the wilderness over 3 days...

Only national park I've been to in the states was Yosemite park and that was when I was like 12... :P

Here is the web site for the NZ tours:
http://www.newzealand.com/au/feature/middle-earth-activities-and-tours/

I just need to somehow convince my wife to want to visit NZ as much as I do ;)

She hates caving and cold weather, which makes things boring, since I love doing the adventure tours.
