What race should I pick and why?

Pro's and con's if you can. Everything leads me to iksar but I want to here the peoples view.

Iksar is min/max. Human or Erudite for rarity. Dark elf for style.

Vile gnomes. I prefer dark elves. Great necros, not quite as good as ikky, but everyone and their mother has a ikky though.

Iksar. The regen is killer.

If you don't want Iksar, Erudite with max STA isn't a bad choice. Iksar regen is the best though.

Dark Elves fall over onto their sides and curl up like weak and pathetic creatures. Iksars do an overly Shakespearean fall onto their back, their leg flies up into the air and then drops down dead, and their arms fling out to the sides. It is glorious.

EDIT: I found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SQvDP5xh5c this. The human animation for FD (also at the start of the video) is the same as Dark Elf. Look at how much better Iksar is.

Gnome necros can see through walls. It's actually really useful in places like Mistmoore. I can scout the HBC camp from the Lasoons room.

Following Necro races in order from best to worst:

Iksar (the master race)
Gnome (short, villainous, and handsome)
Erudite (super rare necro, good shoulder item, bonechip farming utopia of Paineel)
Dark Elf (Drizzt fans begone you aren't welcome)
Human (bad stats and they look dumb in robes, faction is worthless)

Humans have one advantage: The best guild hall in the game if you're Bertoxxulous, as you should be if you're a human necro.

Iksar are best. Regen is win hands down
