This is mostly from my experience on EQMac, but there is evidence of it elsewhere as well. But basically, IvA should have a higher than normal aggro component. Not something like a heal or rune, just quite a bit more than an invis.
Generally speaking this is a non-issue, since most abilities or melee DPS will outdo a Druid or ranger spamming it. However if you have a Goblin Gazughi Ring, spam clicking it for several minutes is a HUGE hate boost on every mob you have aggroed. Similar to a bard using PBAE snare/slow (note it does nothing for a bard, as no clickies can generate hate beyond a base initial aggressive action point)

That video lays out and shows how it's done. He is keeping aggro off wizards casting Winds of Gelid a few times after spam clicking Goblin Gazughi Ring for 10~min.

I used the boots until I got innate camo.
I think the boots may have skyrocketed in price though? I remember there were rumors surrounding them, that warriors were able to build up aggro at a distance using them or something...

I can definitively tell you that this has nothing to do with low HP aggro, or SK's whatsoever. This tactic has been used for at least three years, essentially resulting in about 24AA an hour.
Goblin Gazugi Ring and Mosquito hide boots have instant cast right click "Invis to Animals". This is viewed by mobs as a "beneficial buff", and each cast increases hate a little bit. The thing is, it's instant and spammable. What happens is you pull a mob and make a train... and constantly click this thing for a few minutes. You eventually build up so much hate that the PBAE can't take aggro from you, then nuke away for 4AA, move to field 2, repeat, then move back to field 1, repeat.
Any class can do this cheeseball exploit, I suppose SK's and warriors could do it best due to the hate mods on Voice, and Echo of Anger.

You guys are overstating the agro problem with PBAE/DS killing by not using the easy solution that exists for every class: insta-clickies.
Although they all were nerfed about 2 years ago to +1 agro, as opposed to some of them (like boots of the mosquito) having +5-10 agro at one point, +1 agro is still plenty when dealing with low level PBAEs. For instance, pulling all of the gnomes in SolA (yes, all of them) is easy to hold agro on any of the PBAE'ers as long as you're constantly clicking while pulling. Also it takes them a while to path to you if you're going back to the 4-way entrance to the gnome area so you can get in a good 30 or 40 clicks there, too. It doesn't take long at all to build up 200+ clicks, more than ample time even with a +50-60 DS to get enough agro to hold it entirely from any lower-level PBAE cast.
I still prefer boots of the mosquito since they don't require targetting, but there's numerous other ones that work as well. Another method, considering most of us here are warriors, is to just use whirlwind blade after the pull.
It was somewhat of a well kept secret back in the day, but a few of these quotes say it's been going on forever. Yes I realize that they are all a few years past our era, and some of them mention the CT revamp boots that have an identical clicky. But Goblin Gazughi Ring worked the same way with the minor change that you had to target yourself.
