Why was the move done? What was the rationale and intent behind this downgrade? As a community we've asked the present red99 staff (Sirken, Zade, Deru etc) and were told "Ask Rogean." So I am.

Likewise as a community we, in absence of any offical response, have crafted a few theories as to why, but I'm sure we'd all agree a response from you would be preferable to endless speculation.

There are requirements for servers to be listed in the different brackets. P99 Red clearly doesnt meet the population requirement for legend so it belongs in the bracket for its population.

But the red99 server surpassed the apparent 200 client minimum population threshold at the time of it's downgrade. It wasn't until after the exp nerf, which occurred at the same time as the server downgrade that the population languished to current levels.

I'm aware Alecta is the principal coder for PvP updates, (p.s. I love you Alecta!) my point in this post was when asking the known pvp staff members about the server re designation I was told "Ask Rogean" likewise, we've also been told an element to the lack of transparency regarding pvp development was statements that when they were "allowed" or "cleared" to mention things they would. Apparently Rogean isn't the one clearing or denying anything regarding red.

Also, many of people have been making assertions regarding Rogean's level of interest or care in the red server, this serves to validate or debunk their claims of disinterest, depending on ones interpretation of his statement in the screenshot. Take it for what its worth.

This will never happen, which is why we're stuck with a box that the devs don't want to develop and the players don't want to play. But wipe is not an option. Too much investment.

Where is this silly notion coming from that people want to play on Red99, but for some reason they can't?

No one wants to play on Red99 that isn't already playing. Red99 has pretty much the same population that PVP emus had before Red99, and it's the very same people to boot. You can spam blue forum, you can spam blue East commons channels, no one is going to come no matter how sweet the offer (Red guild whatever offering full gear and a PL into the 50s for anyone who joins with them on red? How low can you sink?)


There's two reasons not to play the PVE game EverQuest on Red99
1. It's PVP
2. The people already on Red99.
