So easy to call someone toxic, Hard to back it up without prof. All you can do is hate because we left Azrael, And you don't like Rettiwalk. Toxic is becoming too commonly used, when it should be reserved for the actual toxic players. Stop being so mad for once and enjoy the game,

Nihilum is in a crazy downward spiral atm, we already lost 6 members for Red dawn and another 3 hopped to Azrael. another dozen stopped playing all together. all after losing one fight at seb =( Man, You got us krazy...You hit the nail on the head for once

I have actually been eatin some pasta lately, Mostly some angel hair with alfredo and some cut up pieces of teryiaki chicken and its very tasty. I did the same with some other noodles but the angel hair pasta so far has been the best. The Alfredo sauce taste mixed with a teryaki flavor gives it that sweet extra flavor.

Gluten is a composite formed from several different proteins. It is found most commonly in wheat and other related grains, such as barley and rye. Adding texture and a characteristic chewiness to baked goods, this ingredient is used in a wide variety of other foods as a thickener and binder, flavor enhancer, and protein supplement. Some people can develop an intolerance to these proteins, however; a gluten-free diet often helps to alleviate symptoms caused by this intolerance.

Arguably the most important step toward being healthy is paying close attention to your diet and structuring your diet around healthy food choices. You guys can ignore the science of nutrition if you want, but don't go around pretending that you're healthy for it :)

Phytates are an easy one, let's start there:

http://jn.nutrition.org/content/129/7/1434S.full

Basically they bind to certain micronutrients, making it impossible for your body to absorb them. I mean you're still getting the micronutrients, just not as much. Add in the fact that your body produces glucose on its own and you're left with absolutely no reason to eat most grains.

Lectins bind themselves to insulin receptors, which causes havoc and takes a person that much further from homeostasis. There's some research expressing a positive correlation between frequent consumption of lectins and obesity, but I can't find it right now.

Yeah there's no need for orthorexia. A little bit of unhealthy food every now and again isn't going to kill us, so long as we ensure the majority of what we put in ourselves is quality stuff.

I eat a lot of fermented veggies so my insides work quite well. If you mean the peppers, I was raised on spicy food! Go spicy or go home imo :)

The key to eating healthfully is to eat caloric, nutrient-dense foods that sate your hunger. And eat it until you're no longer hungry. Eggs are a great example. So is avocado.

Doesn't get more prof than that.

I read both of those articles and neither of them say what you claim. I like the ingredients in your scramble, but I think you could pay more attention to the aesthetics of your food. I find that presentation of food directly affects enjoyment and satisfaction. The ingredients you're using are also not cheap. A $100 grocery trip at a normal grocery store will cost roughly $250 to $400 at Whole Foods or an all organic coop, with the multiplier primarily decided by how much meat is being purchased. Not everyone has access to a good compromise like Trader Joe's, and even that will cost about double what shopping at Walmart or a chain grocery store does.

My point is that you'd probably be more effective encouraging our sandwich eaters to have some carrots with their lunches.

My dinner last night was a salad and tacos.

The salad was spinach, arugula, avocado, strawberry, red onion, toasted pecans and blue cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette. The tacos were tilapia marinated in garlic and lime with sauteed onion, zucchini, red pepper on a whole wheat tortilla with a sauce made from yogurt, mayonnaise, jalapeno, capers, lime juice, cumin, oregano and cayenne.

Here's another on phytates:
http://journals.cambridge.org/download.php?file=%2FNRR%2FNRR2_01%2FS095442248900 0120a.pdf&code=992b39cfddaedb58a8274c4fdfabca59

The second study I linked did state:

"Higher concentrations of this plant lectin, as well as of concanavalin A, competitively displace the binding of insulin to receptors in these tissues."

It didn't say this would bring a person further from homeostasis, though I feel when we're talking about a hormone being displaced at the receptor site this is pretty much implied.

Some of what I said was extrapolation, but I don't believe it was unfounded.

My food is not aesthetic because I honestly have no idea what I'm doing in the kitchen. I started cooking a long time ago out of necessity because otherwise a person eating vegan would pretty much starve, but I never got very good at it.

What I buy is a little more expensive than "regular" grocery shopping is, but it's not nearly as bad as it seems. Vegetables are generally very cheap, even at Natural Grocers. The eggs I buy are $4.09 USD for a dozen, and this is very much worth the cost for me because they are my main source of protein. Sometimes I eat 12 in a day just to keep from being protein deficient. If you're buying super cheap eggs this is maybe twice as expensive, but factor in all the meat I don't buy and I think I do alright in the way of protein cost. My butter is $5 per 8oz, but I buy coconut oil in bulk and use that when I can't afford the butter. It's also better for some dishes, like the potato soup I make. Fruit tends to be more expensive than vegetables, though I eat a lot less of them than I do veggies. The vast majority of my diet is veggies, with my calories coming from healthy fat, egg protein and carbohydrates from resistant starches (potatoes- very cheap).

Other staples of my diet are like avocado, healthy nuts, olive oil. I'm poor, and I do pretty great with my diet. A person could easily scale back the amount of times they go out to eat to better afford a healthier diet in general. Quality meat is very expensive I realize, but maybe that's a good thing and we should all eat less meat to alleviate the environmental damage and whatever...

Those sandwiches looked to be purchased from a restaurant. If you're paying $6 for a single sandwich I don't think you should be allowed to say you can't afford to eat healthfully.

Your food sounds delicious, and very healthy! Excepting the tortilla, and likely the mayo and yogurt ofc. You can make your own mayo that doesn't have like soybean oil or whatever nasty things, and the best yogurt is ofc going to be whole organic plain greek. Post some pics of your food! You'll totally upstage me.

I need to get to the store for onions today, so I haven't made my soup just yet. Expect some pics like tonight maybe.
