I opened it up to everyone for now.

I removed all points as it seemed to cause nothing but a reason for people to grief others. It is still nice to track global ooc for trading and pvp battles. I may open up a new leader board season once Velious hits but it depends on how people act. I don't want this to be the cause of losing new players due to people racking up points.

Data is about 96% accurate. I don't add or remove data from the site. Some data may be missing for a brief period when the server goes down. If you see a gap in missing data and have your logs on feel free to PM me the logs.

If people are not mature enough to use it correctly I will restrict access again.

I am not a huge fan of the current point system because it is too easy to zone plug. I think there may be a zone plug solution coming soon which would then make a point system much more accurate.

The sooner the leaderboard is reset the better. I am not trying to flame here, but this was enacted during a time period where there was literally no other active pvp guilds and Nihilum got such a huge farm session. Which is fine, but we need the data to reflect more recent things.

I don't see why a potential change in the future, which we've seen take forever on this server to actually implement, should stop you from resetting it. If the change ever goes through, you can then reset it again.

Points stopped being counted, but still displaying the Data of when they were being tallied while Nihi was teh only guild around.

No points is boring. reset it and set up a very simple formula, if someone is dying a lot make their worth decrease on a range from 0-5. There's only like 200 players on this server, not that many profiles to retain.

What if I put in a way a player can opt out of the system. Meaning the player says pvp=optout in ooc. This would FLAG that person as being worth 0 value. Their kills, or deaths would not show at all nor count towards anything.

However that player can at any point pvp=optin which would put them flagged as pvpable and worth points etc. but once they opt IN they can never opt out again. Also once that player hits 57 they are forced to opt in. (This would be a kinda manual process)

Just an idea that might prevent greifing.

Okay it looks like when you hit enter it is defaulting to the sign out button. This takes you to the login screen. For now press the refresh after you type in the person/guild/zone you are searching for. I will fix this in the next release.

Leaderboard creates a "counterstrike" feel to the game, which is certainly not the EQ I remember.

Seems like there are two issues right now.

- People want the points system back
- People want new/lowers players to not be greifed.

I am going to archive the board as it is now.
I am adding a new opt in system. By default no one will be opted in. All level 60s will be opted in and you will be able to opt in via ooc if you are not opted in. If you are not opted in, kills and deaths will NOT be recorded. If you kill someone not opted in, it wont record or show.

Basic goal is everyone 56+ should get opted in. Everyone else should not fear being steamrolled by 60s for sake of the leaderboard.

This should take a day or so to fix up.

i think 52+ should be opted in by default. actually i think everyone should. its not a leaderboard as much as it is a killboard. it keeps track of statistics, nothing more. anyone griefed by stats gots some real issues. especially in a game with no sting for pvp death.

I have stated MANY times, the board is about 96% accurate. I do not remove or change data, but sometimes data gets missed like right when the server comes back up. The example you showed above was more than likely one of those cases. Trust me when I say I don't care enough to go and remove data for someone.

It is impossible to guarantee 100% accuracy with the current system.

because they had been in VP for 4 hours and only killed silverwing because twainz and lite were training them while you would kill people as they tried to camp, so elderan started flipping out in /ooc and everyone was pointing fingers at him and laughing

got mad, wrote anti-azrael script for his leaderboard, got laughed at more, cried about how the leaderboard costs $300/month and he doesn't even like hosting it, threatened to pull donations, etc.

as far as i know there's only one way to get the ooc and thats by running the client and being logged on, unless rogean has supplied someway to grab the data from somewhere

If there is missing data anyone can send me logs of that time frame that was missing. I will verify the logs to make sure they look legit before importing them.

Ported into toxx, zone into erudin. Peepmystyle drops group, despite having a wizard with you, a port-box was still used to save wizard mana I guess that is efficient but sad.
