Worse than Hearthstone for paying to get ahead from what I've seen so far.

lol swish dont listen to all the kids. the prices in alpha are fine, $2.49 (YES there is a hero for $2.49) up to $10. hell league has champions that cost $15 and skins that go up to $35 AND GOD FOR BIDE we not mention the 5 free to play characters that rotate every week (can even unlock more f2p character slots with level ups)....... teso and heroes of the storm gets bashed by kids every day over pricing, which imo isent even outrageous........... because we know, developers dont need money or anything, right?
FYI: i watched angryjoe play HoTS for 8 hours straight last night from start to finish. Like it or not, the game is super polished and will gain a piece of the moba market competing with LoL/Dota 2. This game is about teamwork and objectives more then item building.

lol swish dont listen to all the kids.
That seems to be all that's left to listen to on the internets though.
I can't lie, I've bought characters and skins on LoL before but usually save my IPs for characters, and get a few skins with riot points ($$) on champions I use a lot - which isn't many.
Not saying that you won't be able to save the IP equivalent on League of Blizzards, but I bet they'll look to charge more per champion and more worryingly, make the OP champs more expensive (yeah granted the new LoL champs are always 6300/7800 IPs but us smart folks wait for the hype to die, and try them in the free champs the following week).
Right now I can play as Annie, Ashe, Ryze or Kayle and know I'm not in a terrible spot or nerfed beyond usage (support Kayle is very underused and OP...chops towers down quick late game and has an ulti that can swing group fights as people unload their skills into a shield).
Blizzard need to be careful that they don't do an EA, and give you next to nothing for buying/playing the game...and putting stuff that should be free/gettable under a "premium"/pay2win system.
Can you imagine how many people would spend $50+ on the Lich King if he gets put in? I feel sick already
I guess I was let down by Hearthstone, expected a lot from it and it got boring quick and noticeable when you played an opponent who'd melted his credit card to win.

Ummmm Lich King is in already bro, just named Arthas. Most streamers have already spent $50-$200+ on the game and its only in alpha! Hell i saw a streamer drop $37.50 just to buy diablo and a unicorn mount for lolz. Saw another streamer drop $200 and bought every hero in the game. Its going to be the first moba in a long time that will be able to compete with LoL/Dota 2.

Yeah I get that they're the same person, but Arthas moves would be different to the Lich King's moves. What I think I'm getting at is you'll have standard champions and "heroic"/p2w champs if they're not careful with it.

Losing player base? Lol. Game base has only been increasing steadily since release. What player base has been lost? People know that if they want a real successor to DOTA, they go to DOTA 2. If you want a watered down, overly simplified, WoW-ed version of it? Go to LoL. If you're a Blizzard fanboy, now you have Heroes of the Storm.
Troll harder, buddy.

It's a valid argument. Why worry about couriers, town portal scrolls, meaningful moments in combat due to heavy CC abilities, or any of the numerous things that add challenge to a game? Why not just dumb it down so stupid people can play it too? I'll enjoy my growing game (an empirical fact) that doesn't lock shit behind monetary investment.
League fanboys are silly. It's one thing to play League because your friends do, just like people who play WoW because their friends do. It's another entirely to be this delusional. Have fun with your overly simplified shitty game.
And back on track: Blizzard is just sad they lost DOTA 2 to Valve. Lol.

Pretty sure riot owns 80% of the moba market so there doing something right and blizzard is just taking it to the next level. Your talking to someone who played the original dota and loved it but that time has came and passed, everything now and days is being made for more casual play. The gaming market is no longer made up of the hardcore gamers, atleast not since the 90s. Gaming companies target the casual audience now, its how it is and how its gonna be in the future.

They did do something right, certainly. But WoW owned, at one point, 80% of the MMO market throughout Cataclysm. Were they doing something right? Don't make the logical mistake that because something is popular, that it is doing it best. Lol. WoW suffered for their transgressions, and the game is beginning to bleed because of it as people are starting to break out of the perpetuation cycle.
You see, stupid people fail to realize that in most multiplayer games, what is more important than the game itself are the people involved. People will choose WoW over a superior game because WoW is the game that has their friends. So even if Blizzard starts doing shit that is fucked up with their game, WoW, they still have a population, because populations perpetuate themselves until the game devolves to the point where even social connections don't keep people in the game. Larger games have a greater pull.
League is still young, and although Riot started out with the standard Indie "good for the players" attitude, they have, almost yearly, been continuing to devolve. Give them time, and it will bleed just like WoW is. But if you are a person that looks at WoW and says WoW is the superior, epitome of all MMORPGs as shown by its population being vaster than any other currently... Then I think you're truly brain damaged.
Learn you some social science.

Don't get me wrong, i quit league at the start of S4 because of all the stupid shit they have done to the game but coming in here and saying blizzard is mad at icefrog for not hiring them for dota 2 is absurd. Personally im glad a new moba is coming out and this one lets you play characters like the Lich King or Nova or hell you can even play diablo and ride a unicorn into battle.
Its going to own the market and u can bet on that.

Did give that stream a look, maybe I'm just a creature of habit but I wasn't bowled over by Blizzard's take on a MOBA. Say one bad thing in the chat though (about Gazlowe's slow charging ability) and the fan boys jump on you... "OMFG ITS IN ALHPA!!!111".
I think there's room for people to try a new MOBA, but I don't think it'll overtake Riot anytime soon. As far as Blizzard goes, they let me down with Hearthstone and Kung Fu Panda WoW...I think their player base for this is going to come from people who liked Kung Fu Panda WoW and those who enjoy burning big money on their credit cards. Gotta give that to Blizzard, they know how to get mom and dad to help kids enjoy themselves.

Blizzard tried to sue Valve over DOTA 2, lol. You claiming that Blizzard isn't pissed is ridiculous. They tried saying that content made by another person with their tool-kit was theirs to use, as if the art made by an artist is owned by the companies that created the brush, the ink, and the canvas. Valve trademarked the name DOTA for their game as it was made as the direct sequel to DOTA as supported by the DOTA main project operator, Ice Frog. Blizzard got their panties in a bunch, as they wanted DOTA to be their tag, so they claimed that it was made on their toolkit, so they have rights to the name. They further tried to say also that DOTA was a genre, even though it was widely accepted that MOBA was the genre, and that since it was made on their engine, the name DOTA is theirs to use.
Blizzard eventually backed down when they realized how fucking stupid they were, and there is no way they were going to win the argument when Ice Frog was supporting Valve the entire way in making the DOTA sequel. So Blizzard took Heroes of the Storm instead, and DOTA 2 remained DOTA 2.
Learn you some history.

Why does it matter? HoTS will be bigger then both LoL and DOTA 2 just because it has wow attached to it, you doubt this?

I do doubt it. Just the way I doubted that a Star Wars MMO would unseat WoW. It wont unseat League of Legends, because League of Legends has so many players, it has a huge amount of gravity to it. Unless Blizzard can offer something entirely unique that League does not, and the thing they offer is valuable and interesting enough to players for them to forget about the fact that their friends play League, then no, it wont unseat League.
League already outperforms WoW in internet traffic.
Of course, I cannot say for certain, and neither can you, but I do not see a game Blizzard is making defeating League just because it is Warcraft, in the same way I don't see WoW getting unseated by a game because it is Star Wars. That doesn't help grab people away from the gravitational attraction of a huge player base.
EDIT: Oh, and lastly, this doesn't even matter. Blizzard is still pissy about DOTA 2, lol. This is just an attempt to sidetrack into another irrelevant conversation because you realize you were wrong.

Who cares if blizzards pissed, not me. I just said that blizzards new moba will eventually have more of the market then both dota 2 and league of legends. Now u may or may not agree with that, i don't care, you will see in due time.
Heroes of the Storm is more team oriented, there is no items, no last hitting, team shares exp, talent system that changes your character as you level up, daily quests, epic quests, 4 random maps with side objectives, etc.
More casual for sure but its why i believe that it will out do both league and dota.

so this is the game they scrapped Titan for. seems like a desperate attempt by blizzard to try and retain some fans that they were losing to LoL. IMO its just gona drive them into the ground until Warcraft/Starcraft is resurrected.
that being said, im gona play the shit out of this game, but it could be alot better in so many ways. and i would recommend everyone else play it to, because we all know that blizzard games get better as they release more xpacs (not really).
what ever happened to the Warcraft/Starcraft crossover FPSRPG? i thought that was what Titan was slated to be.

from wikipedia:
In August 2013, Blizzard president Mike Morhaime said that the game had reached a significant internal testing milestone, and was going into wider internal testing. Describing it as an "action real-time strategy" game, he said that Blizzard was looking to put their own spin on the genre and challenge some of the existing design paradigms. The Blizzard All-Stars team was expanded in May 2013, from some of the resources who were reallocated when Blizzard's Project Titan project was rebooted and the team downsized. On October 17, 2013, the name of the game was changed to Heroes of the Storm.

Wow. So much for what my friend was telling me. Have a friend that used to work at Blizzard (was one of those 600 people that got canned during late Cata downsizing) saying that it was originally being designed as a MMO successor to WoW in a more sci-fi universe. Described one class being a time distortionist, you'd use abilities to rewind time, and change what had happened. In practical application, it sounded like a tank character that would, after damage was done on an unsuccessful dodge type attack, would re-heal the damage by undoing time and resetting it so they had a second chance to dodge.
Still, the fluff sounded cool.
Oh well. Goodbye Titan.

Might be worth the wait, and they might jump start it again if they run out of other ideas or if WoW fully tanks.
