Currently HP gear only adds HP to max HP and not to current HP. The way it should be I put on HP gear and it should add that much HP to both my current HP and Max. For an example say I have 500 HP currently but my max is 1000. If I put on say a 5ac 55hp ring my current hp should go to 555hp and my max hp should go to 1055. Currently if I put on that ring my current hp stays at 500 and my max still goes to 1055. This was one of the benefits of giving hp gear to a character so they could take off their hp gear and bind wounds to 50% then put their hp gear back on and have more then 50%. Adding sta still should only affect max hp however.

So what if you had 1khp and you were at 50% health after a fight so 500hp. Suppose you take off all your hp gear that gives you 500hp. Would you instantly go to 100% health? Now what if you put it back on, would you instantly rise back to max hp?

If you had 1k max health with gear, and removed 500 hp of gear while you had less than 500 hp, you would die. The OP is correct.

Yes taking off HP gear should also lower current hp so yes you could die if you took off too much.

To avoid getting pkd at low lvls on rallos, one technique was to remove a hp item at the last milisecond and kill yourself so the ganker wouldn't get credit for the kill.
